Cats, dogs living together a no-no in Utah town Associated Press
Nov. 30, 2004 08:45 AMPROVO, Utah - City officials in Provo, Utah, are doing something about inter-species harmony.
Right now it's against the law to have both cats and dogs under the same roof. After getting complaints, the City Council is expected to change the law next week.
The problem was discovered when Susan Sewell and her family went to the Utah County Animal Shelter to adopt a kitten in August. The family already has a cat and a dog and learned they couldn't get another.
Sewell wrote a letter to the council saying the old anti-species mixing law was unreasonable.
