The first post (Assembly Money Deals), the cut and paste did not appear on the board, so I'll just post the threads. No harm done! Go here:

the way i add it up about 5800 jw ;s a day for 12 days= 67000 at $10000 a day to rent the place. it comes out to like a $1.70 per jdub. per day. i can't believe 5800 people will not give a $1.70 each to pay for the rent. letsd say a family of 4 puts $20 in the box at a convention. thats $29000 a day a $19000 day profit x12 days =$228,000 profit for the crooktower. were that poster JT that used to count the money at conventions. i'm sure he will have some interesting input. ) john

Well, I go every year with a family of four. Let's see $0.00 divided by four for the last decade comes to .... roughly $0.00. I'm sure there are some people who contribute generously, but I also think that the majority are cheap bastards, much like the organization they belong to.

For the last couple of years, the begging at the DC has been shameful. Every one of the six announcements is dominated by instructions on how to donate, how to get a receipt, and the benefits of donating. I think their food and literature cash cows have dried up pretty badly.

and dont you just hate when they use examples of little children who give..umm i meant donate thier allowance for the assemblies. I mean if they aint getting da money its gots to be for a reason, but noooo they dont see it like that and they want to guilt you into forking over oops i mean donating money.

I'm sure the Convention/Visitors Bureau for Corpus would be pissed off if they knew how much money the Society has at their disposal...Maybe some of us need to write to the paers there with just that!

    Sincerely,

Now what's with those announcements saying that they're 'under budget' every frigging sunday by thousands of dollars, hoping that they can get more cash in the donation boxes??? I used to give them minimum $20.00 for the rent of the building....

    Liars.

i would thing a 10 or $20 bill would be average for a jw to give at a convention. i can remember seeing those 3 foot high boxes going up and down the aisles. and the j dubs were stuffing them . and i going back to the 1970's and i saw a lot of twenties going into the box. john

When conventioneers come to the new American Bank Center they bring money. Gas stations, hotels, restaurants, downtown businesses and attractions like the Lexington and Aquarium all benefit.

If the JWs attending the convention are suppose to bring their food to the convention, you can scratch restaurants from this list.
