    TMS,

You're so right. There are a million reasons to love Texas. I love the bigness. I love the different topographies and terrain. (Texas Hill Country in the fall may very well rival Vermont - we just do it a month later!) The desert in it's own way is beautiful. The heat, the cacti, the jackrabbits, even those gross tarantulas...it's a different world. I live in Dallas and love how we have the comfort of big city living and at the same time have the Southern speed of life...a little slower. People down here understand the meaning of taking care of each other, family or not. Men down here mostly have good manners and say "yes, ma'am" and "thank you". I love the accents. You get a mixture of Southern and Hispanic drawls. What I wouldn't give to speak Spanish! Texans are typically very hospitable - they'll give you whatever you need when you visit them. Their biggest concern is their guest being happy. I haven't even gotten to the food! Texans have a huge array of wonderful food - BBQ, brisket, smoked meats, amazing fresh vegetable markets, Tex-Mex, and believe it or not, some of the best sushi bars you'll find!

As a visitor I can say this is soooo very true !!

And whoever commented on that Stadium- thinking it was being painted? I thought it was under construction also but I was told that is just how it is. And the next time I was down there it looked just the same ! I hear they are building a new one though. Does it come with a football team?
