October 2002 I went to my first apostafest and you greeted Nina and I with a huge hug and cheerfully introduced us to the other apostates (damn what was the name of that restaurant?). Don't know if I ever told you how much that meant to us. After years of being beaten down by the Witnesses to have people not only be friendly but accepting meant the world.

Val, Always a spare bedroom if you ever wander this far west! That goes for any of you who manage to make it to the mouth of the mighty Columbia. Wifey and I enjoy meeting new folks and have always made our home one that is open to the brave souls who are willing to take a chance on strangers..

Three years... I had to double check your math - I'd have sworn it was longer. That means it's been nearly three years since I first got to meet you in person (and several others). You were prob'ly there if you can remember a Dallas fest with less than 20 people.
