This board is the biggest JW discussion board that I know of. I'm sure timid Witnesses look here on a daily basis but do not join for various reasons. I know some might not really know what to expect if they did become a member. For many others, the internet is a big bad place. They may not even know exJW dbs exist....So how would describe this place to a prospective newbie???

seriously.. i'd tell them its busy, that if you have questions they'd be answered seriously ( well... ignore the above )

theres visible proof of the support that is here.. all you have to do is read utopians thread about lil talia and you will see an outpouring of support and love.

theres enough people here that SOMEONE has had a similar experience as you and you will get help.

I would say that it is the best damn thing on the net (for questioning dubs) In one session it can make you both laugh and cry.Literally. It contains such a variety of people and a host of information.

You can learn everything from the real history of the borg to a discussion of this weeks Watchtower study. And a lot of fun stuff too.

I would tell them not to be put off by the first comment that they find argumentive, even offensive - keep looking and discover gems of knowlege.

Despite what the WT says , you cannot research something by looking only at literature from within. And if it were really the truth it would not be afraid of criticism or scrutiny

That's why I'm glad that swearing is not done here on a regular basis. I believe it can scare a JW away and get them to believe everything the Watchtower says about us.......(not that I don't like to swear, mind you, but I try to be a little more civil here. a little.).

another thing i appreciate here is that most people will link where they got information from. its not all " heresay" theres resources to back a lot of the discussions up.
