It is interesting to re-read that article and remember that a multi-million/gadzillion dollar industry only gave Ray $10,000 when he left.

Pardon my ignorance, but what was the pay for in their opinion?

Franz was disfellowshipped for the "unlawful activity" of having lunch with his employer, Peter Gregerson, who was disassociated.

Mr. Gregerson, a supermarket owner, also had lunch with several other jw employees around that time but WT did nothing about it. Did you say consistency.?

I just love the title "disfellowshipped" .. it's like if I see some guy walking down the street and yell out, "hey you loser" that for the rest of his life he is branded a loser and what I say is gospel.

Looking at it all clearly, it seems to silly to be labeled and that other robotic followers would just blindly believe the label and perpetuate it.

When Ray Franz was disfellowshipped the scuttlebutt (untrue) I remember hearing was that it was for apostasy. He supposedly was against the preaching work and had become an evil slave. Later I moved to a section of NW Central GA (USA) near where Ray now lives. The brothers in this locality knew Ray from when he first moved here after being dismissed from Bethel and before his disfellowshipping for having a meal with his employer (a real railroad job). Most of those who knew him still had great respect and sympathy for him even after his disfellowshipping. Its’ amazing the attraction a Christ-like personality projects.

The announcement was mostly ignored as unimportant, no disfellowship was announced. Sure they did not want to create too much curiosity, but their intention was fianally revealed.

I personally heard the Ray had died in car accident. Later Ray had to confirm that the "news about my death were exaggerated"

Those who knew Ray, such as my family, did comment the incident behind doors.

To throw some dirt it was commented behind doors that he covered the "actions" of some homosexual and child molesters GB MEMBERS.

Those homosexual GB MEMBERS were later shipped out of Brooklyn, as rumors started to circulate in the open, but NEVER disfellowshiped.

Since Franz did not advertise his CoC book, The book is mostly unknown among jw.

Anyone can do a favor mailing the book (holyday gift?) to a few who you care, but still dont know what went on.

Better yet just mail a photocopy of some of those WT letters (real evidence) included in the book. They wont be able to suspect anything. It is a photocopy of an OFFICIAL letter from mother.

Mail it from Brooklyn, AND the sender.could be anyone you can think about, many funny possibilities..

My mother 'assures' me that Ray Franz was disfellowshiped because he joined the Pentecostals. Is there any truth in this at all as I am not aware of what he is doing now or since writing his books?

Its amazing that Ray is the only gb member to write an expose.Or is he the only one?

Acutally my local Barnes and Noble bookstore had it in stock... but in spanish. I told the girl I needed english, so she had to order it. It was hilarious. I live in Florida and in a predominately english area, not south florida where there are more spanish speaking people... but they had the book in spanish. hhahaaaa

Ray didn't join the Pentacostals....He just reads the Bible with close friends on a regular basis.

Nothing formal. He hasn't joined any Church...

Great job posting this . I was looking for more info on Ray Franz and even thought that Ray and Freddy were the same guy . The reason given in the article for franz df ing offense just sounds too petty . Still looking for more info from anyone that has it.
