I think in general the old wts retoric has retired. You guys may not see it and thats fine. In general the wts is global. Americas good name of religious liese fair attitude is dead now since the WOT. In general you ar going to see less formal preaching work examples, so jws can preach without preaching, the wts is going to cave on every issue to the governments bring up, they are going to make a fuzzy mysterious line on who suvives "judgement", and if you notices the total lack of the word formal term armageddon (ill have to read the article to make sure), the concept of a destructive armaggedon will be quellched totaly in favor of a less 9/11 like rendidtion.
Infact they will probally promote a more judicial police action like version. WHere earth is occupied by forces of righteousness, and wicked criminals are judged for their acts of terror.
I mean I grew up in the 80's this article back then would border on near apostasy. If you used select quotes people would think you went crazy.

I think in general the old wts retoric has retired.
How about some very specific examples of what this is.
If it is in the WT publications, it is being read and discussed/talked about in the congregation, incorporated into public talks and assembly programs.

RIght now I would say yes sorta. They are in the process of trying to reword everything it will probally take a few years of them doing this before most jws sound like the articles. Right now it is only the Assemblies and ocassional talks. Most JWs can't see the change. Even though they are giving the talks. The bethlites are already with it, but have a corporate insider mentality instead of a theological one, "well its writen like this because country X... and the brothers there are... and can't..."
Look at the child abuse issue. THey have changed every thing yet not even one apologie or press release saying they have a new system. Infact the press releases lie and say that they have made no changes. -

stilla, you'd be surprised how I could slide some of my comments in with the conductor only looking bewildered and then afterwards have several "brothers and sisters" come up and compliment me on my answers, cautious as a serpent and innocent as a dove."

Wouldn?t it make more sense that the WTS represents Israel, and has made God?s word invalid with its many rules?
I used to wonder about that myself and have come to appreciate that it must be true. I left "the truth" because "the truth" changed, and truth by definition cannot change and become false. The dubs are smug in their belief they are the respository of all truth and that those who leave fall away from that truth. But in fact those who leave are the real truth-seekers.

Speaking of truth, one big thing about this article bothered me. If God's truth can only be gained by someone associated with "God's channel" the WTS, then why do they turn around (as in this article) and brutally condemn "Christendom" for not having it? Wouldn't a sympathetic attitude be more in line?
As you pointed out its interesting how they talk about Jehovah's punishment being selective and dependent on the individual, and then go ahead and lump all non-JWs and especially churchgoers together as deserving judgement for being morally and spiritually reprehensible. I see strong reinforcement of the "us versus them", "inside versus outside" group mentality characteristic of every mind-control cult out there.
