New job date starts Jan 15th, and I was offered a part or full time postion!!!!!

There is 2 postions available and they said I get first crack at it.

I am still not too sure which one I want.I do know that I would love to take the full time postion but I dont know if that would be unfair to others that have to pick up the slack for me.....( due to my back)

So this is my question, and I need your opinion....

Would you feel pissed if the new girl that came on could not fullfill her end of the job??? Most of the ones that I have worked there with have always been good to me and when there were things that I could not do, I made up in other areas.exsample: I cooked for the residents while they bathed them.

Do you think I would be unreasonable taking on a job that I could not fullfill completely on my own?

I really need some advice on this as I have to give them an answer to which postion I am taking so they can hire someone for the other ahift that I donnot except...

btw, I get my new van next tuesday, so I will have some wheels finally!!!

Thanks and have a Happy New Year!!!

    Congrats again!!

Couple thoughts here. One you already addressed. Compensate in other areas for where you cannot fully meet your obligations. I think that most people appreciate a person who is fully committed to the task at hand and who show a cooperative spirit.

As far as which position to take? Take the one you really want. I was in a similar position about 2 years ago. Sister-in-law (also faded) told me that it was high time I started doing the things that I wanted and stopped worrying so much about others. She was right and while I still fret about things like this, I've been on my job (new career path) for 2 and a half years. I learned that rarely is there a perfect employee who fully completes each and every assignment. One who is truly interested in showing up each day, and cares to do a good job, is an extremely valuable employee.

There is a quote, and I can't remember how it goes but it ends with 'Attitude is Everything'.

This company obviously knows your limitations. They offered you not just a job but a CHOICE of jobs. I am pretty sure they know what they are in for.

If you are like most women, and certainly most ex-JW women, you have probably spent most of your life making decisions that were in someone ELSE's best interest. This one is for you. Pick the job that you really want. And congratulate yourself!

    I'm really happy for you!!

    -Aude.

Aude_Sapere...Thank you so much for your support on this.It means alot to me.To hear that you have been with a new carreer for two and a half years now, gives me alot more self esteam to go out there and take the full time postion.I must be just as good as others to take the postion otherwise I guess they would not have offered it to me.Sometimes I still have a hard time thinking for myself and second guess myself ( hubby has been telling me all week that I can do it)..I also feel that sometimes you have to hear it out side of the box.

Treshappy...that is the cutest thing I have seen in a while...made my day...

Sassy...thanks girlfriend!!! this was the news that I wanted to share with you before I left for holidays..I just did not know which postion I could handle/except without getting anyones feathers in a ruffle...You no me, worryed about making eveyone happy....It is important to me that I start off there on a good foot.

    Doodle...thank you...

    Hey Michelle,

I'd take the fulltime job if I were you. They gave you a choice because they believe in you. Tell them your concerns about your duties. Perhaps it is your personality they are throwing their confidence behind more than your ability to do backbreaking work. Congrats and please check your PMs. I'm going to send you one.
