  Are you trying to paste from Word? I've heard that's problematic. Instead, copy from Word, paste into Notepad, then copy from Notepad and paste into the forum.

  (The same may be true of other sources, not just Word. Stripping the clipboard down to plain text is the idea being driven at here.)
