Vomit alert re Tsunami and Governing Body

  Just had this garabge in my e-mail from a sister

  This report is not verified. Yet if true, our prayers go out to
  our Brothers and Sisters.

  We had a report from the Chairman's Committee of the Governing
  Body today at lunch regarding the effects of the earthquake and
  resulting tsunami that hit southeast Asia.
  
  Information from the affected branches is still coming in but
  currently they report that no local brothers were killed and
  there were only minor injuries and only limited water damage to
  Kingdom Halls.
  
  In Sri Lanka most of the brothers were at their meetings when it
  occurred which are mostly on the western side of the island.
  Since the tsunami hit the eastern side of the island the brothers
  were protected.
  
  In Thailand, 2 brothers staying at a popular vacation spot are
  confirmed dead. There are other brothers on vacation that are
  reported missing and the branch is working to identify and locate
  them.
  
  There were 2 brothers from Switzerland who were on vacation in
  the area that decided to go in the ministry and when they
  returned their resort had been destroyed.
  
  All the branches are providing relief supplies and comfort to the
  affected area as needed.
  
  The Governing Body is still awaiting word from the Indonesia
  Branch and will possibly have more to report tomorrow.

  Translation: God moved the brothers to build their KHs on the eastern side. Because the people on the western side did not respond properly to the preaching, there were no KHs on that side.

  reported missing and the branch is working to identify and locate
  them.

  Translation: If you do take a vacation, be sure to go in the ministry and God will protect you.
  

  All the branches are providing relief supplies and comfort to the
  affected area as needed.

  Translation: Supplies only to JWs. Based on the number of JWs in that area, that would not take much. There is no way they provided (wasted) supplies on non-JWs. Of course, the JWs did not avail themselves of any supplies provided by non-WTS sources.

  There's a moral in this story.

  1) Alway go to your meetings it just might save your life:

  2) When on vacation find a near by congregation and joined them in field service it too can be a life saver:

  There were 2 brothers from Switzerland who were on vacation in the area that decided to go in the ministry and when they returned their resort had been destroyed.

  Besides, these numbers of dead are NOTHING in comparison to the numbers that will be killed at the Hand of Almighty Watchtower God, Jehovah.

  A few thoughts;

  1. JWs must be the only ones counting their dead. India, for example, has not said 12,000 total dead, 9,000 Hindus, 1,200 Muslims, etc.
  2. There is a mentality of, "other than the brothers and sisters, those killed would have been killed at Armageddon anyway".
  3. I wonder if the GB remembered the thousands of non-JWs victims in either their personal or publics prayers
