CN...........I totally understand what you are talking about...........back when I was 22, and still a Witless, I was in charge of stocking and ordering tobacco products at a local drugstore.............I LOVED the fragrant packages of pipe tobacco that used to come in! Borkum Riff..............Captain Black............then you had the snuffs...............which I have never tried, btw....................there's a upscale Cigar shop near me........every once in awhile I stop in to check out the merchandise............mmmm..........love the smell!

Being that Cuban cigars are illegal here in the US,
They sell them in Key West FL.
I have never tried one.

Cubans are overrated! Since they are often smuggled in to the US they are not kept under controlled conditions and often have dried out which makes them harsh and burn poorly. The Dominican Republic produce very fine cigars and have far outpaced the Cubans of old. The best "Cuban" cigars are made right here in Tampa by the old timers kicked out of Cuba by that bum Castro!

I remember the first time I tried a cigar. I was about 7 years old, there was a salesman that came to the house and he had a cigar. The stub was in the ashtray, and while my parents were outside with him, I tried it. OMG!!!!! Of course I inhaled, all I can say is puke!! I don't remember how many shades of green I turned.
I have smoked the odd one, our neighbour goes to Cuba once a year and brings us back some for watching his house. The first time we smoked it in the house!! BIG MISTAKE. Now we wait for a nice spring evening and sit out on the deck.
I have to say I love the smell of a good pipe. I can remember one of my teachers smoking a pipe in the teachers lounge at school, it smelled sooooo good.
