Are you part of the problem?

If we are so concerned about the wt and know the role organizations play in our sociaty,

then with moral responsability we should be able to provide a complete real answer instead of just complaint about the WT, if we can't then...

Lets assume you are a GB member and your proposal (complete real answer) has the chance of being approved.

What would you suggest, generally speaking, i don't think anyone is able to come up with a new set of fail proof, proven doctrines.

What should be told, regarding major doctrines what should jw beleive, what should they do and expect from now on.

Have in mind that discarding 1914 will have other implications such as on the FDS doctrine.

Do you have experience runniing a major corporation?

What do you think will be the implications of implementing your suggestions? Think about the collective and think also in legal, moral, religious and economic terms. Will it create other problems?

Will you suggestion expose the org to legal cases? do we have insurance to cover potential damages?

What the role of the GB will be?, those are the question that quickly come up.

the problem is that for many people the JW ORG is the answer. Corrupt, incorect, and morally bankrupt as it is there are a lot of people who have turned away from drugs, crime, and all sorts of personal tragedies by becoming Jehovah's Witnesses. it would be cruel and counter-productive to try to get them to leave or to undermine the organization that holds their lives together.

Everybody in or out of the org has a different life situation. I don't see that you, I, or anyone else short of God himself has the authority or wisdom to give them a definitive "answer" to their lives.

The best thing we can do is to reach out to JW's who are becomming disillusioned with their faith, the ones who are obviously suffering because of the org and the newly interested who are considering joining.

That being said if i were a member of the GB who's proposal had a chance of being considered i would propose putting a indefinate freeze on all "new light" doctrines. People generally don't join or leave a religion because of how philisophically sound it is. They get in or get out because the lifestyle and community it promotes either works or doesn't work for them.

That would never happen since I am a woman.

Given the thoroughly corrupt nature of the core leadership of the Watchtower Society, the only proper thing would be to disband the cult entirely. "That which is crooked cannot be made straight" is a maxim I think applies here.

The problem for JWs is that their leaders have come up with a core doctrine, which I call The Fundamental Doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses, that puts them in between their God and the JW community, making the leaders, for all practical purposes, God. A doctrine like this can't be discarded without clobbering the entire belief structure.

I think this is why so many have a problem with JW's. It's a religion run like a business. Sheesh I work in Marketing -- what are JW's if not a giant marketing firm for their version of God, a.k.a Jehovah?

We track our hours, where we have been, who we talked to, we discuss what strategies we could use to better influence people to accept our services. We project a happy well polished image, we trademark it, brand it and make sure our policies and procedures are carried out in every new market and location we serve.

We have checks and balances. A chain of comand to make sure everyone is on track. People who put in the most hours, and get the most leads are promoted to have more authority.

Are we talking about my job or Jehovah's Witnesses? Frankly those descriptions work for either one.

The trouble with this is that it is like the classic dubby question "All right then, if the Society has got it wrong then what is your solution. You tell us what is right "
But they miss the point . There does not need to be an single alternative solution . We are free to decide individually and one does not have to know all that is right in order to see that something is very wrong.
It reminded me of the dialogue from Monty Python's "Life of Brian"
    FOLLOWERS:
    ""Brian! Brian! Brian!...
    BRIAN:
    Good morning.
    FOLLOWERS:
    A blessing! A blessing! A blessing!...
    BRIAN:
No. No, please! Please! Please listen. I've got one or two things to say.
    FOLLOWERS:
Tell us. Tell us both of them.
    BRIAN:
Look. You've got it all wrong.
You don't need to follow me. You don't need to follow anybody! You've got to think for yourselves. You're all individuals!
    FOLLOWERS:
    Yes, we're all individuals!
    BRIAN:
    You're all different!
    FOLLOWERS:
    Yes, we are all different!
    DENNIS:
    I'm not.
    ARTHUR:
    Shhhh.
    FOLLOWERS:
    Shh. Shhhh. Shhh.
    BRIAN:
You've all got to work it out for yourselves!
    FOLLOWERS:
Yes! We've got to work it out for ourselves!
    BRIAN:
    Exactly!
    FOLLOWERS:
    Tell us more!
    BRIAN:
No! That's the point! Don't let anyone tell you what to do! Otherwise-- ""

If the Gov. Body can see beyond their institutionalised corporate thinking, the only honorable thing to is to sell up disband and let everyone work it out themselves

    Alan,

"disband" "That which is crooked cannot be made straight" "corrupt nature of the core"

"corrupt nature of the core" is everywhere, should the same solution be applied?

What about the catholic church and a few others nonreligous like Eron, Adelphia, Investment corp in wall st, totally corrupt nations etc.

Such a "proposal" is similar to WT solutions except they feel dont belong to the "corrupt" groups.

Satan and co. has not been "disbanded" could be argued.

a core doctrine, which I call The Fundamental Doctrine of Jehovah's Witnesses, that puts them in between their God and the JW community

The Pope is " Infallible" (god), he and the church promise "hell" (fear) for the infidel. Divorce is not possible, comdoms are banned.

At some point back in relatively recent history, they even killed (what could be worst?) infidels just like the WT would like to do.

Until now, despite outcry by extremist, even atheist governments have found counterproductive to "disband" or totally eliminate those "corrupt" religions They did managed to "disband' what they considered "corrupt" corporations and paid a price which they considere they could afford.
