I say "at this time" because I don't see how this peculiar suspension of logic can go on indefinitely. I often suspect that even NASA
is chary about finding life on other planets - noting how the Europeans were so eager to find life while the US was obsessed
with finding water.

Actually, I don't wish to "bash Christianity" since I think that it was introduced into this world to propel human progress
in a way that Oriental religions couldn't! Nevertheless, I don't see how it survives - at least at a fundy level once you throw
aliens into the picture.
As for unproven assumptions, yes, that's the whole point! While great faith is often manifested and complex doctrines developed,
it all rests upon the shakiest of assumptions.
Oh, and if you've ever seen "Starship Troopers", they have a Mormon named camp attacked by the giant bugs on another planet
initially. Most unlikely.......
