Nah, I'm not brainwashed. Though...maybe i've been brainwashed to say that!

non JWs will say JWs are brainwashed. And you'll get JWs saying Non-JWs are brainwashed.

I believe i have the truth.

'Hi- are JW's to be blamed or pitied for their cold, callous unloving ways?'

this is just too general a statement. Ofcourse there will be ones like that. The majority I know are the opposite of that.

For the post above me. If you know that Satan ''the god of this system of things."( 2 Corinthians 4:4 ) how can you direcetly blame jehovah for that?

well. If satan did cause the first sin of humans, i guess i can blame Satan for everything.

I don't think Satan caused the Tsunami but why blame God? Why not blame Satan?

It does say that Jehovah will allow wicked things to happen for a short time. So, theres nothing wrong here.

And yes, I get my information from the bible...unless you think you're wiser?

I don't like to call it arguing. I prefer debating.

I think of the bible as a driving book. You read the book and get to learn how to drive. Like alot of people beginning to drive, they ask others how they drive, how fast they should go, what to do in certain situations, until it gets to a point their own judgements are clouded and don't follow the proper procedures.

I'll stick to the bible for my answers . Maybe you'd like to come up with ur answer another day. I'll wait.

It's ok II ... There is no emergency for me (neither for you I think anyway) ... the bible is not and have never been my leading or bedside book. I've learned more from what I've seen and facts ... our personnal choices

I don't believe I was brainwashed as a Witness and I do believe I always had my free will after I was not living with my Witness parents. I exercised that free will to be a Witness on the level I chose till I was 30 years old. I exercised my free will at the District assembly when I pulled back the "Out Of Order" sign on a vending machine and dropped in a nickel to get a roll of lifesavers for my three year old son.

I take full responsibility for my good behaviors and for my mistakes. They were all done by me with my own free will. I have read about former members as well as former leaders of high control religious groups who want to minimize their crimes and hide behind the excuse that they were victims of victims. I don't blame them. It takes guts to stand up and take responsibility . . . guts they apparently don't have. In my opinion, brainwashed victims of victims is crap.

HI guys- thanks for all your posts to my question. I too think that brainwashing thing is crap-- although i confess it is hard for me to understand why anyone would WILLFULLY want to belong to such a loveless group of people. We do have free will- and we should be ALLOWED to use it.Thats sort of what we are all doing here- right? When I was doing my study- I wasn't ALLOWED to be here with worldly people.:))))) So free will is good. :))))))))

Brainwashed...that is something my non dub husband calls it...i think if that's all we've experienced...and it was so in my case-born and raised...that's what we become.

since i've been out, i've been trying to find the person i really am without all the rules and narrowmindedness. It's a tough job. gotta take it day by day.

    Baby steps!

I suppose brainwashed is close - of course that embarrasses me because I am well educated but did not spot that I was being brainwashed - but I did have free will and I did choose to become a witness - I did not have to
