Oh that's totally photoshopped.
None of the photographed waves I've seen from the disaster were that high. The displacement that occurs during underwater earthquakes is at most 30 feet and most such tsunamis tend to have a max height of 30-40 feet (sometimes more due to local terrain, shallow water, etc.). Waves caused by landslides however can be much higher.
I've seen a lot of pics from the disaster and mostly the waves were of relatively short height. It's the endless surge behind the wave that was the killer. It was horrible because the short height of the waves initially lulled ppl into a false sense of security. The video from Penang is especially haunting. The wave looked no bigger than a good-sized wave at the beach and ppl were laughing when it crashed into them. Then the surge swept up from behind and swept them into the seawall.
