Wish I could share with you all the joys of a new natual gas insert in the fireplace! Dang! Sitting here watching the wind and rain and storm outside with the warmth of a fire without having to cut wood and pack it up the stairs and get wood scraps all over the carpet! I bet Craig and her nibs would love to cuddle up in front of it!

Enjoy your fire. I hate winter with a passion I can't even begin to convey. Of course, living in the mountains in one of the coldest parts of the US doesn't help. The 6 months of snow each year don't help either.

We have a wood stove but are running out of wood already this winter! Having this subzero temps really sucks here! In fact, woke up to FOURTY BELOW ZEROW this morning! That is a major brrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!
Funny, Im just about to ditch my gas supply in favour of a wood stove.
I personally like wood heat better myself. Seems "warmer"..but definately makes more of a mess and is more work.
