Immediately she says well I just came from the meeting and we aren't supposed to drink alcohol.

Heh, that was probably a lie.

Your MIL reminds me of alot of the nosy, gossiping types from the hall. Isn't it crazy that she can't just come over and be a normal human? I am so glad that I married a girl with non JW parents. It makes the in-law situation so much easier. I wish I had some good advice to offer, but I really don't. Just stick to your guns, and don't let the crazy old witch corrupt your children. Let them grow up not believing in worthless lies. Good luck on future visits.

Sounds like she over-reacted to last Sunday's WT study about alcohol.

    Lauren in the World,

Perhaps I am less than tolerant to my mother in law because I have had 7 years of her meddling and being downright evil, sneaky, and conniving.

I maybe could be more loving if she hadn't said things to me like...

I wish my son had been gay instead of marrying you.

Calling me retarded and making fun of me for being sad when my grandfather died.

But the cherry on top of the whole situation was when my last child was born a few months ago and she made a card on her little computer and sent it to us. It made fun of the fact that my son was in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. To me that was nothing to joke about.

If you can be nice to someone who is constantly making trouble in your life and personally attacking you and your beliefs I will gladly wrap my mother in law up in a box and send her to you.

Also...When you have children you can choose what you have them exposed to when they are young. It's one of the perks of 9 months of carrying the children and the 28 - 72 hours of horribly painful labor pains.

Sorry if I sound bitter but you don't know my mother in law.
