Stefanie-10:30 at night w/the kids! Oh that would piss me off every time. I'm so glad you don't have to go through that anymore!

I hated going during the week, especially taking the kids. It didn't matter how much snow was on the ground or if it was 2 degrees out, the study conductor was so quick to offer help so I could make it. WTF for, I don't know. I'm tired when I get home from work; and yes, Thursdays have been good tv nights for a long time. Part of my unwind for the weekend time!

For me, it was the weekend. Friday was so bittersweet, because the work week was over, but I had to spend almost the entire weekend in a suit.

Saturday morning started out with English service. Then it was Japanese service (read: driving around in a stuffy car in suits for a couple hours) in the afternoon. You finally get home and eat dinner, and now it's time to spend a couple hours preparing the WT to read aloud. (It took me that long because I had to read it a couple times to make sure I could deliver it fluently in Japanese.)

Sunday was usually Japanese service in the morning, then meeting in the afternoon. Evening time was finally free, but it's hard to be excited about the weekend when your first free moment is in its twilight.

Weekends just had this gloom hanging over them, made all the worse because I was trying to be happy.

Happily, that has now faded. Sometimes I still can't believe how great weekends are now.

Ugghh...I can totally sympathize with all of you. Even when I was little, I would ask my mom on Tuesdays and Thursdays if it was the long meeting or the short meeting. When she would say the long meeting on Thursday, my heart would sink.

I just discovered this website and was amazed to find so many people here with the same sentiments as mine. I was raised a Witness and left about five years ago. When you try to explain to others what it was like being in it, you just kind of sound crazy to have gone along with all of it. It is nice to find people who understand how you feel and what you went through. Just wanted to say thanks for sharing!

I think the elders were just sittin around drinkin a Bud at those meetings

Huh! , didnt I wish!,..... The P O would ask us fot "Five minutes at the end of the meeting" and we all knew that it would be half an hour about something utterly unimportant. And there would always be some argumentative so and so who spin it out. Almost every P O I served with had absolutely no management skill at conducting and winding up meetings

SNG you were a sucker for punishment.

We are glad to not have to put with that nonsense anymore. Especially the kids.

"Huh! , didnt I wish!,..... The P O would ask us fot "Five minutes at the end of the meeting""

Yea, I remember when they would make those announcements about the "short meeting", you could hear everyone snicker.

I hated those meeting nights because of having to get up for school the next

morning! It still amazes me when I think back that studying and preparing for

those meetings was far more important than my homework or any projects I had due!

I did like the stopping afterwards though, we would slide into DQ before they closed!

I would always be in a funk on Tuesdays and Thursdays, because it was such a depressing notion to have to end the day at the Kingdumb Hall.

I was however able to "adjust" my work schedule so that I often usually always had to work into the evenings on those nights.
