  when i said "we" are in charge of our own destiny, i was thinking in terms of myself... of course people in impoverished countries have no power, and are in desperate need of help. that is where that "faith in my fellow man" was coming from.

  p.s. i hope you don't think i would be so arrogant or ignorant to even remotely suggest that these people are in charge of their destinies. my god...um, anyone with half a brain realizes they need help... why do you think i posted that link?!!

  Incense . . . . all I was trying to say was that 'we', as a people, should not lose our faith in our ability to help those in need. We cannot lose the ability to believe in ourselves; then we cannot help those who cry out for help.
