How many believe in a literal, firey hell that God will damn people to?

Do you truly believe that there is a place/state/condition that God will forever banish some people to, along the lines of the Hell concept? If so, who will be there? Only the "really bad", the "bad", or even the "not as good as they should be"?

(This came to mind when I saw the "Jews in hell" thread. I had to wonder if anybody here buys the idea of hell at all.)

    Thanks for your thoughts!

Not I... I think the language in the Bible that most of the belief in hell is based on is open to too much interpretation to be taken seriously.

    My two cents, anyhow...

I believe hell is a place on earth, known as the "new system of things," an eternity on an earth inhabited solely by Jehovah's Witnesses. That's the "truth!"

One good teaching of the WT.

I do not believe such a place exists existentially.

The concept of hell/Gehenna is very much biblical however, despite what the WTS teaches. Such a concept nonetheless is lacking by some writers (e.g. such as the quasi-Sadducean Ecclesiastes), and conceived differently by others. But it is there.

I would like to believe what the Witnesses taught about "Gehenna" that it is not a place where people burn to death forever.

I have heard alot of different opinions on this and personally I lean more towards the opinion that "Hell" does just mean death. I really hope so! It makes alot more sense to me. I guess if I created people, and asked them to follow me and some did and some didn't, I wouldn't send them to burn to death forever!! I could be wrong but it makes more sense to me that the Witnesses were actually right about Hell.

Not me.. I don't believe in a literal fiery hell.

I would however like to be cremated when I die. I suspect it will be very hot in there but I still don't think that's hell either. I consider it an alternative to being eaten by worms. ewww.

Well, after Adam ate the apple, Jehovah said 'For dust you are and to dust you will return". He didn't say "You will burn in hell forever".

No I do not - one very sensible and accurate teaching of the WTBTS

For God to damn any of us to hell would be to damn Itself to hell.

If hell is real, then finally I will meet God, and we can talk.

I have many questions I would like to ask, and have no reluctance whatsoever in demanding that It answer.
