Someone just told me that the Dub hourly average has dropped significantly.

Is this true... as I am no longer "in"... but it would make for some interesting comments.

Please advise, those of you in the know...

I meakes sense now, how they expand much faster than the JWs. Of course, the Mormons probably make more sense.

    Team Name: Witness Busters

The Witness Busters have Elder John in the corner, they're closing in, they're about to steal his faith! Oh wait, the Faithful Slaves have stolen the edge, they're pulling Elder John out from the corner, YES!! the Faithful Slaves have saved Elder John ----GOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About the hours thing. If service were about actually converting people I'd agree with you. For the Mormons it is about converting. For the Witnesses it's about controlling people every month for the rest of their lives.

Lets be fare and assume that a Mormon does 40 hours of "full time service" per week for two years. That comes out to 4160 hours of service.

The average JW is supposed to put in 10 hours per month which comes out to 120 hours per year. This means it would take a JW 34.6 years to do what a Mormon does in two years.

Not very efficient of the part of the JWs if you ask me.

That's the point... efficiency has NOTHING to do with it. It's a smoke screen for control.

It's the only thing the Dubs have to "measure" the un-measureable... "Spirituality". When will they learn? I find the entire attempt to measure anyones "spirituality" REPUGNANT!

I can't fathom JC or his 'postles doing such a Pharisaical practice... remember the widows mite? Right hand not knowing what the left is doing? Secret person of the heart? Go to your inner room and pray? Not like the hypocrites who like to be seen? and on and on...

It's not only a question of the quantity of the time spent out preaching, but also the quality. A couple of Mormons came to my door once, and they wanted to talk. They didn't just try to leave magazines with me. Of course, I was still a JW and didn't want to talk to them, mostly because there was a hockey game on and Toronto was winning.

As long as I was going out in "service" neither I or anyone I worked with really tried to have a conversation with anyone. We just wanted to "place" magazines and get our asses to the donut shop as quickly as possible. We had no interest whatsoever in the people we were preaching to.

The fact that there is no efficiency in the dub preaching effort. The fact that the society discourages anyone from having a website, even if it is for the sole purpose of preaching to others, the fact that the society discourages message boards for communicating to each other or preaching all irritates me.

Dubs are constantly amazed that there are many many people that haven't heard of them or have no idea about what they believe. A lot of people have heard the name but only in connection with jokes or service or blood. The society has done a terrible job of getting god's word out in the last days.

If the real intent of the preaching work were to reach as many people as possible they'd revamp the entire thing. They would hold periodic pioneer schools for everyone one of the publishers. The simple fact that the pioneers can't share their pioneer school book with the friends in their hall should tell people that it's about creating an atmosphere of sacredness not of preaching to others. Pioneers should be dying to share that book so everyone's service would improve. Same thing with keepign the District convention releases a secret until your specific weekend. If something comes out that is going to benefit the friends in service, get it out! don't sit back and wait until your weekend. Again, it emphasizes secretness and sacredness not preaching to others.

Oh my I think I've ranted.
