They would have a stroke if I had a string of Christmas lights running in my home if they saw them, even if no one else was around and it took much prying on the hounders' part to find them.  Yet they do nothing about displaying jw dot org items, mostly cheap crap, right at the boasting sessions.  The jw dot org crap looks ugly.

As for the Christmas lights, most people find them appealing.

Honesty - "...you can bet that almost every one who sees that junk except gung-ho JW's recognize the idolatry."

Can't see the forest for the trees, huh?

    Hell, it's practically thump-you-over-the-head obvious.

I think most of them know something is wrong but the indoctrination is so deep that it overwhelms their common sense.

Imagine the Congitive Dissonance the sheeple are experiencing. correct me if i am wrong...but didn't the washtowel tell sheeple not have decales on cars the show support for bands or athletes or not to wear shirts with logos because it was idol worship. could anyone find a wt or awake that state this?

I know the washtowel is against tattoos, but if some one got a tatoo of the blue org thing. would they then say it was ok to have a tattoo?

    it's a cult

worse mistake of my life was joining this cult....if i could turn back time!

    A Form of Idolatry

Still, some may see no harm in carrying a crystal, a rabbit’s foot, or a religious medal. Are these not little more than harmless trinkets? Not according to the Bible.

[Yet Jehovah’s Witnesses see no harm in carrying or wearing a JW.ORG trinket.]

    *** w02 8/1 p. 6 Do Superstitions Control Your Life? ***

    Protection From Evil—Is It Possible?

Ade, a man living in Niger, was studying the Bible with a full-time preacher of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Ade explained why he had a talisman in his shop: “There are many enemies.” Ade’s Bible teacher showed him that only Jehovah can be counted on for real protection. He read Psalm 34:7 to Ade, which states: “The angel of Jehovah is camping all around those fearing him, and he rescues them.” Ade concluded: “If Jehovah can really protect me, then I will remove the talisman.” Now, years later, he serves as an elder and a full-time minister. Not one of his enemies has harmed him.

[No doubt today Ade proudly displays a JW.ORG talisman in his shop.]

The WT has always been pointing their finger at other religions, most notably Catholics, who make use of images and icons. They’ve been regularly pointing out the material in their Reasoning From the Scriptures book regarding God’s supposed view of images and icons in parts in the Theocratic Ministry School, and how apparently wrong it is. (False religion, don’t you know!)

I know a brother who put decal lettering “YHWH” on the back of his station wagon in the 1980s. Apparently some brothers frown on such chintzy bumper-sticker-religion displays, as did the WT, but, alas, . . . here we are now with all those annoying blue “JW.org” squares on everything. What’s that word again? . . . oh yah, “hypocrisy.” How ridiculous!

There are two of those blue square things on the display sign at our Kingdom Hall, one on each side. They clash with the sign, which is maroon/burgundy-colored. Those blue squares look rather out of place. You can tell that they’re on there “just because.”

“Honesty”“. . . the indoctrination is so deep that it overwhelms their common sense.”
That’s really about it. In a JW’s eyes, the WT can do no wrong. (That is, unless they happen to be among the growing number who are starting to actually wake up.)

I agree that it is a form of advertising or propaganda (spread of information or ideas with the purpose of influencing feelings or actions).  No different from wearing the JW name tags not just to the convention, but as encouraged from the stage, out to dinner and what not while they are in the host city.

Next, they will be making them into patches that they sew into their clothing!  lol  Better yet, tattooing them on their bodies as the mark of a true christian!  lmao

I am very surprised that they never exploited  the tetragrammaton as a symbol of their religion in the same way they use JW.ORG

Is it just me or does it seem like the religion has changed a lot even in just the last 4-5 years since I've been in it

Idol worship....really?? This may be taking the fault finding of JW's a little too far. JW's believe that people can learn life saving"Truth" when they go to JW-dot-Org .Their goal in wearing the button is to make people curious enough to go to the website or make the website known so that more people discover their organization and what they call "The Truth". It's basic advertizing. They still say they worship Jehovah and believe that making his name known is part of their worship of him and they believe these buttons and banners advertizing their website will help others to do the same.
