    REDEMPTION SONGS: Old pirates, yes, they rob i;
    Sold I to the merchant ships,
    Minutes after they took i
    From the bottomless pit.
    But my hand was made strong
    By the ?and of the almighty.
    We forward in this generation
    Triumphantly.
    Won?t you help to sing
    These songs of freedom? -
    ?cause all I ever have:
    Redemption songs;
    Redemption songs.

    Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;
    None but ourselves can free our minds.
    Have no fear for atomic energy,
    ?cause none of them can stop the time.
    How long shall they kill our prophets,
    While we stand aside and look? ooh!
    Some say it?s just a part of it:
    We?ve got to fulfil de book.

    Won?t you help to sing
    These songs of freedom? -
    ?cause all I ever have:
    Redemption songs;
    Redemption songs;
    Redemption songs.

    Redemption songs:
    These songs of freedom,
    Songs of freedom. Judge Not

    And say I'm going bad.
    Who are you to judge me
    And the life that I live?
    I know that I'm not perfect
    And that I don't claim to be.
    So before you point your fingers,
    Be sure your hands are clean.

    Judge not
    Before you judge yourself.
    Judge not
    If you're not ready for judgement. Woah oh oh!

    The road of life is rocking
    And you may stumble too.
    So while you talk about me,
    someone else is judging you.

    (Saxophone solo)

    Judge not
    Before you judge yourself.
    Judge not
    If you're not ready for judgement. Woah oh oh!

    The road of life is rocking
    And you may stumble too.
    So while you talk about me
    Someone else is judging you,
    Someone else is judging you,
    Someone else is judging you,
    Someone else is judging you,
    Someone else is judging you.

    I guess she doesn't plan to live in Jamaica after that. I wonder why the Ethiopian connection? A guy at work says the rumor was that the CIA induced the cancer through a nail in his boot? Anyone hear that one?

    He smoked "herb" as a part of his religion and lived it. He said it was not for recreational reasons but "headucational" reasons.

    He is well respected all over the world, in Asia and Africa.

    I am just catching up with music that was sanctioned by the WTS.

    WHO THE CAP FIT [Aston Barrett; Carlton Barrett]

    Man to man is so unjust, children:
    Ya don't know who to trust.
    Your worst enemy could be your best friend,
    And your best friend your worse enemy.

    Some will eat and drink with you,
    Then behind them su-su 'pon you.
    Only your friend know your secrets,
    So only he could reveal it.
    And who the cap fit, let them wear it!
    Who the cap fit, let them wear it!
    Said I throw me corn, me no call no fowl;
    I saying, "Cook-cook-cook, cluk-cluk-cluk."

    Some will hate you, pretend they love you now,
    Then behind they try to eliminate you.
    But who Jah bless, no one curse;
    Thank God, we're past the worse.
    Hypocrites and parasites
    Will come up and take a bite.
    And if your night should turn to day,
    A lot of people would run away.
    And who the stock fit let them wear it!
    Who the (cap fit) let them (wear it)!

    And then a-gonna throw me corn,
    And then a-gonna call no fowl,
    And then a-gonna "Cook-cook-cook, cluk-cluk-cluk."
    ---
    /Instrumental break/
    ---
    Some will eat and drink with you,
    Then behind them su-su 'pon you, yeah!
    And if night should turn to day, now,
    A lot of people would run away, yeah!
    And who the cap fit, let them wear it!
    Who the cap fit, let them wear it!
    Throw me corn, me no call no fowl;
    A-saying: "Cook-cook-cook, cluk-cluk-cluk."
    ... : "Cook-cook-cook, cluk-cluk-cluk."
    Throw me corn (cook-cook-cook);
    Me call no fowl (cluk-cluk-cluk) /fadeout/

    Isn't that because the Rastarfarian religion believe that some Ethiopian is their messiah (Haile Selassie) and that Africa is the Promised Land?

    I love Bob Marley - he reminds me of sunshine and beaches where his music still lives on every day.

    No favorite - but the live version of 'No Woman No Cry', with its feedback a few bars in typifies just what live music should be.
