I see those same attitudes up here.The elders kids get away with a lot,I had even noticed a few years back that when the elders' sons moved they all got in some kind of trouble.

One 19 year old here told me about all the drunkeness,fornicating,smoking,drug-use among the young jw's.The problem with all that is some think that's how it is in the "world" all the time,so when they can't keep up that lifestyle they return to their vomit-WTS-and try to be happy.If only they took it more mellow on the outside instead of going all gung-ho and stupid they would see it's not all that bad and life really is better outside the borg.

I really think that the young ones in the organization are smarter now. Most of them realize the JW religion for what it is, a false hope. Why work hard to do what the elders want? Go and party it up!

Her parents would keep her away from your son if you wanted to let them know... before it gets too serious. I can't imagine anything really good coming from this. Augh! So glad I don't have kids to worry about.

Hi All and JustTickledPink!

I would never 'rat' on this young lady. She's the same age as my son, early twenties. But! As I see it, when her parents find out, afterall what stays secret, it will be us they come after. We have quietly faded for four years now.

The young lady is a FT Pioneer and doesn't want to be! They will want to keep her that way and not loose this young woman to a worldling and I would imagine, which is what I'm worried about, that our fade will turn into the BIG BOOT just so that she can't come round here and assiciate with my son.

I have very few qualms about peoples sex drives as long as they're willing and use contraception. But I don't believe this is going to be as easy as that.

Kids!!! Don't they bloody well make life complicated.

Oh isn't love and the sex drive of our young people unpredictable. I was horrified when my 16 year old son told me he and an Elders daughter (age 16) back some years ago were doing the horizonal tango. Thankfully I didn't know it till long after the fact, but I could hear the gossip if the congregation had found out. Fortunately it didn't continue long. Now we're all out. But yes your fade is being compromised. Talk to your son about it, to see if he would be willing to back off of this relationship with this Elders daughter.

As Unique said, the double life of the young JW kids is very tough on them. They hate the JW lifestyle, but don't have the courage to tell their folks.

The fellow that worked at the pub where the JW came in and got shitfaced was pretty good. The fact is these kids will leave eventually.

Balsam - I know it sounds selfish but we're enjoying and benefiting from our quiet fade. Seems an awful shame to get caught out now. It's not a case that we're not sympathetic to young JWs after all, how long did it take us to escape the clutches of the WTBTS? Too long!

I know a lot of these young people will leave the 'trooth' in time but they are seriously messed up with their double lives. I think,mentally they will be in worse shape that some of us older ones who were too crushed to even think of escape. They've lived double lives for too long and think everything's OK as long as they don't get caught.

I can't imagine living a double life ever... I never really had to lie when I faded, but sneaking around and having to lie would make me crazy... I would much rather just be me, take it or leave it.
