I thought I would share this pathetic post that Car781 posted over on the Michael Jackson Subject on the VH1 message board. I almost posted it under humour.

    All this Jehovah's Witness Bashing

Jeeeez, I see so many posts talking bad about Jehovah?s witnesses?.

It?s like taking a giant magnifying glass and looking at something looking for all of it?s imperfections and talking about it endlessly?.
Let?s take a look at governments, take the US government,, and say people would start bashing it, posting things about what they know. Horrible things are committed in the government! Politics can get dirty! Say they start talking about what president Clinton did w/ Monica and people getting discouraged because as a president he?s supposed to set a fine example? say everyone believed what Michael Moore said about President Bush on his film 9/11? say people talked about president Reagan and how he helped supply the soldiers weapon during the civil war in El Salvador where millions of lives were lost! And people would start talking about every little bad thing the government did or any religion did! I mean, it can get to the point where thousands of people would post so many negative things that you can get discouraged! Well that?s what?s happening on this board?.

People are posting things, twisting things, making the JW look like mindless robots who do anything their elders tell them to. Or say their ?man leaders?? well does anybody mention the fact that the Pope is the catholic churche?s leader and isn?t he a man? isnt? everyone a man?! The pastors, elders, priest, whatever you want to call them, they?re all men! And just because you are believing what they say, does it make everyone leaders of men???? As a JW, I don?t feel that I?m a mindless robot? I follow what the bible says? and yes whoever knows about the bible and doesn?t live accordingly will be destroyed? or do you think that God will allow the world to go on how it is today (w/ crimes happening everywhere, and other bad things) forever? Did he do it in the days of Noah? No, he destroyed the world by flood (because of the evil things happening), even little kids who had parents and didn?t listen to Noah?s warning. What about Sodam & Ghomora? Did God stop then? No, whoever didn?t hear Jehovah?s warning was destroyed.

It digresses from there into how hard it is to be a JW, and that it is hard being different from everyone else, and telling everyone else they will be punished for not following Jah's warning, blah blah blah...

That's really going to win a lot of converts!

I agree. The man is far too polarizing, so I avoid his documentaries. There's no way he can present a balance objective view.

    And your point is?

*** w89 9/15 p. 24 Be Obedient to Those Taking the Lead *** We should be happy to cooperate fully with the arrangements they make for our benefit.

*** w02 3/15 p. 17 Christ Leads His Congregation *** Even if submitting to authority is difficult for us, let us prayerfully apply ourselves to being obedient and submissive to the divinely constituted authority within the congregation.

*** w99 3/1 p. 17 "The Temple" and "the Chieftain" Today *** The flock, in turn, recognizes that Jesus has provided shepherds as "gifts in men." (Ephesians 4:8) Their qualifications are set down in God?s inspired Word. (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9) Christians therefore follow the elders? lead.

*** w99 6/1 pp. 16-17 Appreciating the "Gifts in Men" *** We can demonstrate our appreciation for the "gifts in men" by being quick to heed their Bible-based counsel and decisions.

WTS labels the elders as "divinely constituted authority." And, yes "faithful" JWs do mindlessly follow the elders just for that reason.
