From your post I assume you have managed to avoid the clutches of JW-land? Me too! This board helped a lot.

As far as "deep" boards go, I agree, this is a great board for exploring philosophical/historical/religious themes. ...and if you get tired of that, we can always discuss pizza toppings!

    Hello,

    I too,I am new on J-W.com.

    What I feel about it?

I think that the JW's organization is a quasar, a black hole in the the universe of free thinking, which bring everybody near it to be trapped by it's gravitational field.

Happily, it seems that a few parts of the concentrated matter, is ejected from time to time.

This his from were people like those on this forum are coming from, and this his from were they came, a black hole, the Kingdom hole.

After having being compressed thousand times, far above the normal atmospheric religious pressure, come the re expansion( I try to translate from french) of our personnality.

And a place of exchange like this, seems to be quite good for recovering from our travel in outer space of deceit and disillusion., and more than that, show us that we are an international brotherood of mieslied one.

    AmitiƩs.

Hey, now I understand! It's deep space! I was wondering if I'd missed something..

Really, JWd is more like a Fred Meyers store. you can find almost anything you want from fluffy stuffed Minimus dolls to real hardware, like garden shovels...or space ships.

Welcome Inquirer! One of the amazing things about this site is you learn that many of the horrid esperiences we may have thought were unique to us as individuals were actually common place in the Org.

And we're very glad you did! It's great having more from downunder on JWD. There are times when we feel really time-zoned here so have someone else in our time and place is pretty good.

    Welcome aboard!

    Cheers, Ozzie

Thanks for being so friendly and welcoming -- the JW's aren't. :(

But I must stress, I still believe in a lot of JW doctrine (I should write this on my profile), I don't think I'll ever change on that.

But I love all these interesting topics, and proof that what they do and that. :)

Yeah, there is a whole range of viewpoints here.

There is one change I have though of and I accept: Philosophy. I don't think philosophy is bad anymore -- I just think you have to be careful what stuff you take in! It's like wine, you just don't drink too much of it that's all.

Philosophy in my opinion is related to really important thigns like -- inventions! This Internet invention (used by the US army in the 1960's [that's where it all started]) is pretty important! You can reveal JW activities!

You have to have a freemind (.org -- :D ) to invent something!

But thanks again for being so welcoming! So Simon is the founder of this board? :D Does he post here often?

Welcome Inquirer! I'm glad you finally copped a 'tude and decided to post. I'm looking forward to getting to know you.

Carmel Really, JWd is more like a Fred Meyers store.

    What's a Fred Meyers store?

Me, just kidding, but I bet only us in the Beautiful Pacific Northwest know....
