Everybody's nature is individually developed as a result of their experiences in their pasts and some consequently, feel that they must always give of their best whatever they do in life.

So, when they are persistently told that any slacking on their part indicates a lack of appreciation for the organisation that God has so generously provided for them, then this one thought controls their every choice. Ne'st pa?

Did you know a few in your congregation that would never miss a meeting, no matter what. Even if it was 20 below zero or 100 F or if they were sick, they would be there anyways.

We were one of those families. My dad always made us go...and we had to walk. It was probably less than a mile. But still...we had to walk in the dead of winter to and back.

As an adult it used to piss me off when people would come to the meetings sick or their children were sick.

Yes! My side of our crazy family!

They would NEVER miss a meeting, EVER!!!!!

Then, when certain ones were dying, they bemoaned, 'Why me!' and 'What did I do wrong'! '

I went to all the meetings and out in the ministry and assemblys. I always did my study'!

And then the veil was lifted!! Lo and behold - it was all a superstition! They believed that if they followed all the WTBTS instructions nothing bad would happen to them. SUPERSTITION!

'Poor Idiots!' So I was not surprised when my parents said they would never leave the 'trooth' because it was a protection for them. Still they do not see simply because they're stupid. And when I say, 'you're stupid' they reply 'Well God has chosen the Stupid ones to be his servants!'

    Too Right!

    great question JH,

We had many "dyed-in the woolers" in our Congregation. One of the book study conductors was so bored with his life/wife at home that he'd have the damn bookstudy no matter what! Snow, sleet, freezing- rain. God it's so good to be out of that stupid-ass cult.

I remember one Circuit Overseerer, who, gave his bs talk one Turdsday night. It was about meeting attendance. In his pompous Jdub arrogance, he started the bs with "There are reason, a person, would miss a meeting, death, or severe sickness"......... blah blah blah.

What an ass. I can't remember the idiot's name or I'd post it.

Anyway, with dipstick C.O.'s @ the helm with those kind of winsome words, It's no wonder they have those who are OH-SO Faithful, and go no matter what!

My mother used to drag us out in all kinds of weather. We had a rear-wheel drive car and used to drive on roads when they were sheets of ice, having accidents many times. It wasn't safe. Once I asked her if she would be bloodguilty if we got in an accident and died. I was beaten for asking that.

The cong always believed you should go to the meetings unless you're unable to get out of bed. That's why we'd always be sick, because we'd be in the KH full of germs.
