(The whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of Jehovah under the leadership and priesthood of our, of your son,) see he almost slipped up and called jesus our son? i thought maybe it was a typo but after hearing the speech on real player, nope he almost slipped up. on the real player its also noteworthy to mention the sheer venom in his voice as he critizies the clergy for only bringing water to ground zero.

OK, I should not get too carried away here. All is not Ciro's fault.

Let's moderate our comments, there might be some relatives of Ciro's that post here.

Back around March 2002 when Ciro's talk first was posted, I wrote an open letter to him rebutting his arguments. If you are interested in reviewing this subject go to:

Does anyone know Ciro? Perhaps if someone does, they can tell us more about him.

Good old Ciro. He is my daughter-in-law's Great Uncle (and I use the term "Great" very loosely here). Here is what I know about the guy. He likes to hear himself talk. He thinks he's a stand-up comedian. (Well...I think that is what he thinks; but I could be wrong...it doesn't happen often; but sometimes I'm wrong). I believe he actually mentioned to my husband at one of the family gatherings we attended back when we were IN the org., that he had a library card for the UN Library. My husband thought that was very strange.

When my husband stopped attending meetings and I was still going sporadically...he gave a Sunday talk at our KH. After the talk, he pulled me aside and told me that stopping going to meetings wasn't going to do us any good and that I should keep encouraging him to come back. He acknowledged that what was done to our son & his (now) wife was wrong...but didn't seem to want to get involved any further in straightening things out. (For more on the situation concerning my son & his wife and why we left; you can read it in the "Best Of" section).

I think that he is the type of person that sometimes questions what the "society" is doing; but being a lifetime resident of Bethel, he would never speak out and "rock the boat" and chance being kicked out. At his age...what would he do? So, I personally, think of him as a hypocrite and he fits in very nicely with all the other hypocrites who run the org. Ahhhhhhhh....feels so good to vent. He and everyone else involved in "Librarygate" should have been DF'd and given the boot. Go figure.

Seem like Ciro was an apropriate perfect tool utilize by the WT, to obtain its goals, whatever the goal wa (not a libray card), i think in terms of showing and retracting from proven "sedition"

Ciro is one of those guys that just says what is on his mind, and even if it is rude, crude, offensive or sarcastic he can just say it. I was in his congregation in Brooklyn at one time and I called one day and asked him why he wasn't at meeting - like if he was sick or something. He called back and gushed over how thoughtful it was of me to call. After that I was his buddy and he took me under his wing. He told me alot about the UN card and he would take me out to visit his mother at a nursing home in Yonkers. He showed me the streetlight he was standing under when he first heard "The Truth". He let me housesit his room at Bethel when he was out of town. Invited me over to dinner with him and Dottie often.

He is a performer first and foremost and the Society used him for that often. That way even if he said something wrong, they could say "Oh c'mon. . .that's just Ciro."

When I finally left Bethel to get married he sort of disowned me as his little prodigy. Even when I went back to temp work a couple of times he gave me the cold shoulder. Kinda like what's gonna happen to me in the near future on a larger scale I'm afraid(see my other thread).

I still have alot of love in my heart for Ciro. He didn't really play the doublespeak game like the others. While his talks are all over the place and haphazard -"it's just Ciro" and I don't think should be seen as something the WTBS sees as valid reasoning most of the time. In actuality, he was a breath of fresh air for me when I was feeling very institutionalized at Bethel.

I think your description of him as a "tool" sums it up nicely.

(He showed me the streetlight he was standing under when he first heard "The Truth".) Was that a new light or a old streetlight?
