Need help. My defrag is acting up.It will not defrag, and comes on by itself and still does not defrag, it locks my pc. Any suggestions to fix this would be appreciated.

Probably a spyware problem. Also if you have antivirus running it could cause a problem. Reboot in safemode and try it.

Yeah...Press F8 on startup to get into safe mode and try it there. A lockup is unusual and could be spyware.
Usually when defrag will not work it is because a process in the background such as screensaver interupts it and it has to start over.
2005 is the year for spyware and it is a HUGE pain in the butt already. If you are not aware of this download and run such spyware programs as Ad-aware,spybot or the new microsoft program antispyware.All the programs are FREE which is the very best price.Run them in safemode also to get the most complete clean of your system.
