God used the asteroid? I would have to say, prove it.

    LOL.

You think I was there to see it happen?! Now I am truly offended, big "S". I think you are saying that I am *gulp* old.... Whaaaaaa

It is pretty miraculous that for all the damage caused by an asteroid hit, life likely still evolved on this planet at a collosal rate to the point where we are now...

    *snif*.. thank you...

If a plan includes unplesant things, does that make the plan bad or wrong? Don't get me wrong, the idea that some of creation was predestined for annihilation has always bothered me, but I am not God and have no idea what he may have been thinking. I'm glad not to be living next door to a brontosaurus, but couldn't He have created them on another planet if he didn't want them here with us?

I have also had issues with the fallen angels thing. If God's own created children couldn't cut it, it's no wonder we have issues with ours.

Actually, I was wondering, what would constitute proof in any of the cases you refer to, S?

In citing the examples of apparent screw ups or destruction of innocent dinos, or stars or whatever, it was to demonstrate that if the universe, the earth and everything on it was indeed created, then that creator wasn't that smart, certainly not omniscient. The creator would appear to be learning as it goes along, or perhaps growing. Indeed, the universe has some aspects of an organic system. Is the universe perhaps 'god' in the pantheist sense?

    I have no idea.

Some devout muslims consider the tsunami hit on Indonesia a sign that Allah is displeased that muslims are not follwing the faith closely enough -al lneed to go to fundamental Islamic values - scares me - but to the thread - yes it can be argued when anything goes wrong on the earth god has failed- I think the jury is stil lout on this one - I have ebecome agnostic

Stilla:Sad to say, it's not just the Muslim Fundamentalists:

I know the guy in the article, having taught him how to use the Internet in a nightclass some five or six years ago. Ironically one of the other students beckoned me over in a blind panic because some pornography had been set as wallpaper on the computer she worked on. She explained that she wasn't bothered by it, but if the Minister saw it he would lift the roof!

I also called on his Manse, as a JW, to have hell and damnation cast down upon us LOL.
He's always been an extremist, and was a driving force of separatism between his denomination and most other Christian denominations. He recently moved from our bonnie island to a new charge in London - pity help them!!!

Sadly some Christian Fundamentalists have just as obscene views as the Muslim variety.
