    Scholar,

I agree with you that there are many sincere Christians who rightly accept the Bible as God's Word and the duty for such ones is to defend it from the prevalence of higher criticism which has eroded the faith of many.

Might I ask for the sake of clarification and for Alleymom's own frame of reference whether you consider her to be a 'sincere' Christian, or a 'true' Christian?

For example, do you believe that if Alleymom remains a Christian' *outside* of the definition of such as adhered to by the WTS, that God will soon kill her and all her family who are not Jehovah's Witnesses?

    Best regards - HS

Alleymom is adorable and she is a refeshing change from a vendetta and spite from other posters who resent alternative views and opinions. But I have a thick hide and I am not the sharpest knife in the draw by any means so I will not be intimidated by anyone and will defend our wondrous chronology at all costs.

I believe she is a sincere Christian but not a true Christian and as I have not been appointed a judge or have not been give any such assignement over personal salvation, I cannot comment over her destiny. Soteriology is in the province of Jehovah and His Son and whilst the time is favorable then we should pursue truth and live it.

What the hell is the difference? What was Jesus message about? Was it more about "choronology and legalism" or sincerity? Go back and read your bible and come back and tell me.

Scholar:So you agree that she's a Christian, then?
That being the case, the rest of what you had to say is twaddle.
How can you not see it?

The WTS made it clear in a question from readers some years ago that only dedicated, baptised Jehovah's Witnesses would survive Armageddon, though in its cuddly fashion allowed some leeway for the mentally challenged. I can quote this for you if you so wish.

It is true that the WTS in its FAQ on its public website is rather less courageous about expressing this opinion obviously not wishing to shock its readers, but you are very aware that this is a primary doctrine of the WTS which applies to this very hour, and is indeed a common one that runs through most cults. At least be honest enough to stand by the 'glorious' doctrine of the WTS and admit to Marjorie that you believe that she, and every other non-Jehovah's Witness on this planet will soon be killed by God at the Battle Of Armageddon.

It is these very doctrines that give rise to the 'vengeful' reactions of people on this baord toward anything WTS shaped. Nobody here is repelled by your personally Neil, but many are repelled by what you believe.

Mind you, HS, his claims to be an intellectual "glorious one" doesn't help him either, eh?

I firmly believe that Holy Spirit has revealed to His people a correct chronology which is the bedrock of Bible prophecy...

But, Neil, I have asked you repeatedly whether or not the chronological information in the 1965 WT I quoted is completely accurate, and you have refused to answer.

I can only assume, from your continued silence, that you do have private doubts about the accuracy of one or more of the six statements I listed, but that you are reluctant to say so publicly.

Do you accept all six statements as completely accurate?

Jeremiah's prophecy covers the time range from the 13th year of Josaiah until the 11th year of Zedekiah and contains prophecies of denunciation and restoration and was directed to the people living in Jerusalem at that time.

It was Ezekiel and Daniel whose prophecies were directed to the exiles in Babylon ?

Chapter 29 of Jeremiah contains the words of a letter Jeremiah wrote to the exiles in Babylon.

Verse 3 even gives the names of the two messengers who carried it from Jerusalem to Babylon.

The opening words to Jeremiah 29 are addressed to the exiled people at Babylon which from a cusory examination of Jeremiah is the only oracle so addressed. The majority of the oracles were spoken against the Jews in Jerusalem, The seventy years in Jeremiah 29:10 were to be completed or fulfilled with no indication as to when they began. This seventy years was formerly referred to in Jeremiah 25: 10-12 spoken during the 1st year of Neb which some believe to be about 605 but at that time had not yet commenced because these events were yet future namely the exile, servitude and desolation of Judah. So, the problem is which year did the seventy years commence. The only event that created exile, servitude and desolation was the destruction of the temple not the end of Assyria, the beginning of Neb's reign or the first deporation of the princes to Babylon as shown by the more descriptive oracle given in Chapter 25

This fact remains a challenge to scholars as to what year the seventy years began and that is why there are many dates for this event are proposed as Jeremiah does not specify what year they began. All that he states is that certain events would in concert occur so interpretation indicates that this period could have only begun with the fall of the city which ended the Jewish Monarchy.
