Have just finished reading ''The DaVinci Code'' which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have read ALL of Agatha Christie's which I love, but I think the best recent book I've read HAS to be, ''NOBODY TRUE'' by James Herbert - something in it for everyone, lol!
