What a noble theme to the instruction talk tonight er this week.

Emphasizing Jesus' Roles as High Priest and Head of the Congregation

Now you'd think the information the talk is based on would Emphasize Jesus' Roles right? Well,

    ***

be p. 277 The Message We Must Proclaim ***

Additionally, Jesus exercises great authority as the one designated by God to be Head of the Christian congregation. (Matt. 28:18; Eph. 1:22, 23) As such, he provides needed direction in harmony with God?s will. When you teach others, help them to appreciate that Jesus Christ, and no human, is the Head of the congregation. (Matt. 23:10) From your initial contact with interested ones, invite them to meetings of the local congregation, where we study the Bible with the help of material provided through "the faithful and discreet slave." Explain to them not only who the "slave" is but also who the Master is so that they become aware of Jesus? headship. (Matt. 24:45-47) Introduce them to the elders, and explain the Scriptural qualifications that these must meet. (1 Tim. 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9) Point out that the congregation does not belong to the elders but that they help us to walk in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. (Acts 20:28; Eph. 4:16; 1 Pet. 5:2, 3) Help these interested ones see that there is an organized, worldwide society operating under Christ?s headship.

Ukkk I hope I dont puke. Why cant they just emphasize the role of Jesus? The slave is so great, we are so wonderful, Im suprised they havent broken their arm by patting their own back so much.

Bilge like this kept getting hard to take, so I finally stopped going. Once your eyes or open, it's over. You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube.

Such empty words! They can say "Jesus is the head of the congregation" all day, but their actions prove otherwise. The GB puts out this image of mock humility, like they are just serving the lord and relaying the message, but really it is just a way to make people believe their words are inspired and a way of shirking the responsiblity of owning up to what they have written. They could at least try and follow Jesus' main teachings before they claim his leadership.

If Jesus is the head...surely somebody has to report to Him...get information from Him...wonder who's having those conversations and getting the memos?

This must be the most frequently used phrase in the KM meetings.

Where is Jesus role being emphasised in this 'part'? I admit to being a bit mentally challenged but I just can't find him in there anywhere.

Someone help me understand how this can be. Oh... I forgot I can't understand the bible without help from the Faithful Slave.

Where are you, O Great self exalted Faithful and Discreet Slave? Please show yourself to this unworthy wench so that I may too have insight that only you alone out of all the peoples of the earth possess.

Im kind of worried, it will be painfully obvious that I'm leaving the part about the FDS out of the talk. This talk may be enough to out me or at least make the other guys start listening closer to my talks and such.

Interesting how they begin with Jesus to make it tie in with the propaganda to follow, which is to keep following the society's rules and laws. Not God's or Jesus's laws. But the laws set out by the sociey. I don't even know how the society can seriously write this stuff anymore. :)

    Priceless!

Soooo, we have here a clear WTS slip... They unwittingly say that a "Bible" student learns a lot about the slave and just eventually about Jesus Christ. Extremely revealing. Haven't they ever heard that Christianity is Christ-centered??

Help these interested ones see that there is an organized, worldwide society operating under Christ?s headship.

No problem, they, including elders, usually don't follow the material, the meeting is extremely boring and they have a hard time to keep the attention on what's being said. Just read one or two Scriptures about Christ's headship and take your time on this. Then just jump to the next part in the talk. If they are really following, they'll figure you were just managing your time and stuff.

Their minds are usually numb during meetings.
