Even while English is'nt my native language, I don't have troubles reading this as well.

Here is another wonder of the human mind. It's called the McGurk Effect. First of all, listen to the following video with your eyes CLOSED. It's very important that you first hear it only with your ears.

You should have heard the person say, "Ba....Ba....Ba...."
Now play it again and this time, watch it. Do you hear something different? If you are like most people, you will find that what you hear depends on whether you are looking at it or not. Here is another video of the same thing:

When we look at a photo or painting our eyes do not go from left to right or up and down. We see the entire picture at once. Reading is exactly the same. It is the shape of the words that our brains recognize, not the individual letters.
