You are correct in that freedom is found in discovery of our true Source and Sustenance. However, the tiny god depicted within the Bible, is not it. Open your eyes and look around you, is the world free? Many religions read the same Bible, believe unquestionably in the same deity, are they free?
Freedom, is true freedom only when it includes everyone. The Bible god only includes those who read and do not question the Bible. Your god does not include everyone. It's love is conditional, dependent on specific beliefs and actions. Your god separates and causes strife and suffering even within it's own family of Christian beliefs. You call this freedom? Painting pictures of Jesus on your cell walls, is not freedom. It's the worst kind of slavery that doesn't even know it's enslaved.
When we limit God, as Christians do, we limit and chain ourselves. When we belittle god to a deity or thing separate, we lose sight of love and truth. We're fcuked.
Our true Source excludes no one and no thing. It is the Alfa and Omega. It, is the actual essence of all. Look deep within yourself and find That, and then come talk about freedom.

Posting here may be a start in the direction of freedom but who knows?
2. when we don't post to this forum? Not guaranteed.
See above answer to question 1.
3. when we let someone else make up our mind? Not true :
Jehovah's Witnesses have been doing that yet and still they are not free.
4. when we read the Bible every day and allow it to influence our life? (getting warm!)
The bible if recognized for what it really is won't hurt your freedom,,it only takes away your freedom when you beleive it is the inspired word of god.
5. when we take the critics seriously. (the water getting a little chilly)
We should indeed take a very critical look at the bible,,and see if this tribal god of the Jews is for real before we go devoting our life to its teachings. Many don't do that and wind up falling pray to mind control cult that use the bible in thier indoctrination techniques.
6. when we become 'our own person' i.e. make the truth our own (here we go!)
Truth is such an easy word to misuse,,so many religions of the christian variety claim they are the truth,,they are just empty words when used that way.
7. when we dedicate our life to serve God (who opened the starting gate?)
Dedication to an imaginary being has nothing to do with freedom.
Please feel free to add 'true' or 'false' Although the questions number to 7, this does not confer perfection but doesn't hurt to aim for it.
Perfection is another word that is just like the word truth,,its use is very subjective,,what you mean by perfection and truth and what I mean by it are totally different .
