Deep Fried Southern Rock - Marshall Tucker Band

There's a Cdn. artist, Matt Minglewood (another old rocker) who recorded Can't You See, and it's a fab cover.

---> Bad Company - the original "bad is now good" band

Hey, speaking of 70s music, anyone remember the Average White Band (think "pick up the pieces, uh-huh!)

In my late teens and early 20's...my favorite's ranged from classical to Moody Blues, John Denver, Michael Martin Murphy to a lot of what's called "Classical Rock". I like all kinds...except rap, it just grates on my nerves, sorry.

The last I listened to a few days ago was that haunting Green Day song, "I walk alone". I can listen many times and not get tired of it !

It's from the movie Donnie Darko. I don't know if these samples are from the Gary Jules version of the song or not. I had a partial computer crash tonight and so the online samples won't play for some reason. But here's the link. I hope that it works.

I sent my sister this song before she stopped shunning me. She said she liked it but that she didn't appreciate the Happy Birthday part. Oops. My daughter had sent the song to me. I coincidentally saw The Movie The Pianist the day I first heard this song, so I always associate it with The Pianist.

    Mad World

by Gary Jules All around me are familiar faces
    Worn out places
    Worn out faces
Bright and early for the daily races
    Going no where
    Going no where
Their tears are filling up their glasses
    No expression
    No expression
Hide my head I wanna drown my sorrow
    No tomorrow
    No tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles its a very very
    Mad world
    Mad world
Children waiting for the day they feel good
    Happy birthday
    Happy birthday
And I feel the way that every child should
    Sit and listen
    Sit and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
    No one knew me
    No one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what’s my lesson
    Look right through me
    Look right through me
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I’m dying are the best I’ve ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles its a very very
    Mad world
    Mad world
    Enlarge your world

That is a beautiful melody, Flying, thanks for the link. Kinda reminds me of old Simon&Garfunkel stuff.

My bad...he says "I walk alone," so many times, I am easily corn-fused.

Yes, MMM sung "Wildfire." I got to meet him, his wife and son after a concert in a small mountain town. Really nice guy, pulled up a chair and talked for about 20 minutes!

Seen any good bugs yet ? Probably too cold, eh? Our spring is starting !

The occasional spider, one was on the bathroom towel - was the perfect size and shape for a BW, but I killed it before I got to check for an hourglass. SORRY! Couldn't help it, I was wishing someone else was here.

That's so cool you got to meet MMM. Most musicians are pretty laid back, huh?

NIGHTWISH!!! These guys totally rock! The only problem is nobody here has ever heard of them, and I can't buy any of their CDs without paying $30 a pop (typical price for an import).
