Golf - I hope you qualify - that would be great!
If you ever get in the Great lakes region [Chicago, Detroit, Indiana] and want to play let me know. That would be a blast! You'll have to spot me a few strokes I fear....

Jeff:
Where I used to live, the dubs held an annual golf tournament. It was kept kind of hush-hush, although it wasn't much of a secret. Dubs would come from many states to this sunny location. A ministerial svt who worked as a golf pro at a local country club actually "ran" the tournament. He has since faded so I'm not sure who they got to take over. Anyway, this thing attracted well-heeled JWs from as far away as Hawaii and New York. Several COs took their vacations to be able to come to this thing and at least one year there was someone from Bethel in attendance. The only people allowed in the tournament were dubs ranked MS and up and you had to be "recommended" by current participants in order to get in.
It was four days of golf, Thursday thru Sunday, with dinners and awards banquets in the evening. Of course, this meant several local elders and svts missed the Thursday night meeting, Saturday FS, and the Sunday meeting. Oddly, no one complained about this (the local elders involved were "prominent"). As an elder who golfs a little, I was actually invited a couple of years but it was incredibly expensive (several hundred dollars) and I couldn't afford it. Otherwise, even though the whole concept seemed problematic, I'd have played just to see what took place. I mentioned this once when I was traveling many states away and was told by some elders that they had heard about this tournament for years and all wanted to go.
