I haven't been to Luton so I can't chip in with any redeeming features - but it can't be good as my b/f refuses to acknowledge it exists even when I show him the flights from there are much cheaper than from Gatwick!

I can categorically state that Croydon has to be the most ugly and pointless and cultureless place on the planet

Difficult to up that, but, let's try Crawley.

    Good question!

WSM has actually totally gone to the dogs. What was once a charming and genteel town has been over-run by morons. Chavs, if you like. We have 10% of the whole countries drug addicts living here in "rehab" or sheltered housing. Worse, the house in which I live, which is typical of those in WSM, is ideal for conversion into one of these rehab units. So I could move out as it would be oh so easy to sell.

BUT! The 50% of my neighbours who are nice normal people as opposed to the other 50% who are moronic, form a major part of our social life. Plus the pub is close, the shops are very near, the beach is 200 yards away and the summers are nice and warm tend to influence us to stay put. The thought of moving onto a modern housing estate appalls us, so here we stay. For the moment.

    I'm confused..

Born in Texas, sort of staying put because I'm too lazy to move.

I actually did move to a new house last year for many reasons, but not to beat a dead horse, my husband's ex-wife moved 5 houses down from us ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE STREET about a year ago. Hence my need to call Mayflower!

?I can't stand London, it's full of pretentious tossers who think they are really "IT?

I hate this kind of statement; yes London is full of a lot of ?IT? people. That?s what happens in great world cities. The intelligent and wealthy gather there. But poor and ordinary people live there also.

I think London is one of the best cities in the world. It?s a Shame those in other parts of the UK fail to see it.

My great grandparents homesteaded in Seattle in the late 1800's. So I guess we are stuck here.

I might be inclined to live somewhere else, but all my children and grandkids live here, so it's not likely that we will ever move.

My dad was Air Force when I was young ( before JW ) so we moved a few times when I was growing up. Last base he was transfered to was here in Florida on the east coast back in 1963. Dad retired from the AirForce and went to work for a local company that built the VAB building at Kennedy Space Center. After that we decided we liked Fla. so he kept working, his next adventure took on the work of helping to build Disney World. About the early,mid-seventies Dupont started in Virginia and he was transfered there, he traveled back and forth for a few years this was because the rest of the family was very happy living here in Fla.. Into his 2nd year in Va. he decided the whole family needed to come there, so off we went! Settled in the Staunton, Waynesboro area, I stayed 3 years till I finished high school, and left the JW`s ( df`d). My folks have been there over 30 years now, I came back to Florida in the early 80`s and have been here since. Now I`m burned out on the area, it`s just growing way to fast as of recently and I don`t like it!

Have been to Seattle and parts of Washington, loved it!! Wouldn`t mind moving there, my hubby has family there for this is where he is from, his dad worked for Boeing there for years. I especially like the area of Bellingham.

My husband loves it here. Someday, when he's not in the picture, I plan on moving to an area of the US where I can see the changing of the stations. Here in Florida there are just 2 kinds of weather, HOT and HOTTER.
