Okay. Being on this site is obviously taboo for most active Jehovah's Witnesses since it is frequented by disfellowshipped and disassociated people who are supposed to be shunned.
From what I understand though, elders are allowed to talk to DF'd and DA'd people, So logically wouldn't it be okay for them to post here?
Come to think about it, if an elder logged on here he would have an opportunity to check the repentance of these individuals and perhaps "win them back to Jehovah". It would also be a good place to check out evidence in an apostasy hearing. So realistically, wouldn't a responsible elder purposely log on here as an important part of his theocratic duty to Jehovah's Earthly Organization?
Best of all, if he puts up a good enough witness then technically he could even count field service time.
(forgive me if this has been posted before. I have firefox which makes it impossible to search. Also, if the forum assistants decide that this post will open too big a can of worms then you can delete it with my full acceptance and advanced apologies.)
Can active elders post here?

I'm sure there's a group that posts here and count it as 'time in field service'. I guess they see it as trying to bring back the rebels to the WTBTS.

We have all sorts of people posting here. Most are ex-JWs, but there have been, and still are, some active Witnesses posting from publishers to pioneers to elders and on up (even a district overseer at one time).
This board tries very hard to respect people's privacy and confidentiality. Since this is the Internet, never reveal any personal information unless you want the whole world to know. That applies for those in and out of that sect.

For all intents and purposes, this board permits reigious discussion of any type, so if there is a prohibition, it is the mandate of the Jehovah Sock Puppet in Brooklyn.
More and more people - elders and rank-and-file - are coming to the understanding that the Jehovah Sock Puppet is impotent (just like the GB members who make him speak) and non-authoritative.

That's cool, I wasn't trying to out or expose anyone. What got me thinking about this point is that any time a blatent JW apologist comes on here there's always a chourus of people saying "If you beleive in the WT so much why are you posting on a board that you could be disfellowhipped for even being on?" If thw person in question is an elder who is counting time then there would be a very logical explaination. (it would also explain why these people are prone to long winded drawn out posts).
Slimboyfat's question about weather or not the society actively moniters this site also made me wonder if elders might be given special instructions aside from the rest of the rank and file to check if there are any so-called apostates from their local congregation posting here. (Considering their "special privliges" in the org it seems likely).
More than anything I'm curious about 1) Is it permissable under current society rules? 2) If it is permissible is it actively encouraged? If the answers to both questions are correct then we could have a nice little scandal WT on our hands. -

What Truth, I wouldn't want to see that scandal. I personally want to welcome all who have any or every reason to be here, active JW elder or any other "servant" of the bOrganization. My reasoning, is they come to witness, and may just get "witnessed" to. Afterall, this site was first pro-JW.... I find evolution in all things facinating!

I believe an elder might visit a site like this if he had reason to. For example, if he sees some "apostate" traits on a member of the congregation. I do not know if anyone at Bethel monitors this site or not. I would imagine those in the legal department would to get their defence ready. I'm not a lawyer, but if I were it would seem logical to see what your foe is doing, planning or saying. Just my thoughts...
