Millions now living will never die! Did you know that the GB.WBTS. is still teaching this wild assertion?

Let's start when this wild assertion began and see where it ends up.

1918, Rutherford gives a world-wide public lecture-"Millions Now Living Will Never Die!"

1920, Rutherford releases a Booklet - "Millions Now Living Will Never Die!"

Based upon the promises set forth in the Divine Word we must reach the positive and indisputable conclusion that Millions now living will never die!

But as it turned out Millions then living, 1925, did die! Jesus did not begin his 1,000 yr.reign, nor did he resurrect anyone in 1925.

Now, 72 yrs later the GB. was still unable to let go of Rutherford catchy phrase. On page 11 of the Jan.1st,1997 WT. they ask, "Why can we confidently expect that "Millions Now Living Will Never Die!"?

They answer,In the early 1920's a featured public talk presented by JW'S was entitled,"Millions Now Living Will Never Die! They may have reflected over - optimism at that time. But today that statement can be made with full confidence.

In 1955, N.H.KNORR said "Stirring up increase interest in them, Jehovah caused to be preached from 1918 the startling message, "Millions Now Living Will Never Die! This is no wild assertion.

See the following references: 1981 Awake March 4th, page 32. 1983 October 1st Watchtower, page 8. 1984 Awake, April 8,page 31.1989 Awake back cover.

The most recent 1997, Jan 1st.Watchtower.

This information is printed in the Book "Captives of a Concept".

So, the Governing Body is unable to let go of the catchy phrase "Millions Now Living Will Never Die!" and the rank and file are still captive to this "Wild Assertion". 80 years later!

Feel free to pick apart what you notice in the wordings of Rutherford, Knorr and the Governing Body.

It is so sad that many who we know and love are still held captive.

Honestly, I sometimes wonder whether the GB keeps returning to that same old lame duck of a promise simply because it's the only one (besides the "hope" of seeing deceased loved ones being resurrected) that continues to hold people captive. I asked some of the Friends? one time Why do you want to live forever? and the basic response was because they were afraid to die.

So the GB puts this artificial fear in the minds of JWs that after death there is nothing. You're just dead. No heaven, no hell. Then they create an equally artificial solution to put fear at bay: Millions Now Living Will Never Die?. Problem solved. Until they all start dying anyway, without realizing that it was all smoke and mirrors all along.

Probably a more truthful statement would be,"Millions now dead will never live."

It's been 8 years that I know of, since they have used that catchy phrase. 1997 - 2005. Anyone know if they have used it since. They know that it is a false teaching of Rutherford's, yet they still teach it themselves.

They may realise it but, by then it will be too late to start over again for "Millions Now Living."

18 In the early 1920?s, a featured public talk presented by Jehovah?s Witnesses was entitled "Millions Now Living Will Never Die." This may have reflected overoptimism at that time. But today that statement can be made with full confidence. Both the increasing light on Bible prophecy and the anarchy of this dying world cry out that the end of Satan?s system is very, very near! The Memorial report for 1996 shows that 12,921,933 attended, of whom only 8,757 (.068 percent) indicated their heavenly hope by partaking of the emblems. The restoration of true worship nears completion. But let us never slack the hand in that work. Yes, Haggai 2:4 states: "?Be strong, all you people of the land,? is the utterance of Jehovah, ?and work. For I am with you people,? is the utterance of Jehovah of armies." May we be determined that no strains of materialism or worldliness will ever dampen our zeal for Jehovah?s work!?1 John 2:15-17.

Show me a person in the process of living forever...and I'll show you someone who has no grasp on reality.
