    Hello, No Apologies

I know Maximus personally. He worked in Bethel?s editing department (now writing department) back in the late fifties and early sixties. Later he worked as a district overseer.

While in editing he worked side by side with the NWT committee putting the NWT together.

No Apologies, I would think that being responsible for the Awake crosswords would be a higher position than DO.

Does anybody here really know who Maximus was?

I know his name but am not inclined to divulge it. He knew my father and my brother, and we have emailed in the past, catching up on mutual acquaintances.

Steve Imhof was at Bethel.............may have been a Bethel elder too. I never asked him.

Reinhard Lengtat (worked on AID volume)

We know Reinhard very well. Really nice man.............not df'd. He wrote many WT articles and some of the books too, including the "Choosing" book.

Thanks, Mulan, I wasn't sure he "left." Apologies to Reinhard.

:::I don't know that I'd call D.O. a 'high level' JW rank, more of a middle manager type.

I myself was a former Gilead Instructor, and I was responsible for the Awake! crossword puzzles...:::

I'm not sure if you were pulling my leg. If not, it's quite a responsible position as a Gilead Instructor - did you work with Glass. (Or am I thinking of someone else?)

What caused you to move on from JWism?

When i was a Kid in the late 70,s early 80,s there was a Aussie District overseer who was at Twickenham DA for a few Years running.Bro Rees was his name, one of those Brothers adored by everyone.I think he was Bethel.

I was told by our C/O in the 90,s he had left and was "Apostate".I remember being shocked at the time.

Anyone remember him,or know what became of him?He was a brilliant speaker even to a bored youngster like me.

I think you're thinking of Phil Rees.

On the general topic, I'd say that people reveal as much as they wish to reveal and it's not helpful to try and "second guess" I.D.'s

Some of us know for a fact that people in formerly senior WT positions have left the organisation and may even be posting on boards such as JWD to help others see the truth about "the Troof" but they've probably no desire to speak of themselves personally. That's what I've gleaned from a couple of such men that I've corresponded/spoken with.
