Congratulations!! My mum let slip this information almost a year ago, and today both her and my dad (who I never thought would ever ever leave) are here on this board! Two strikes for us!! Good luck with the whole thing, I know it can be a very stressful time, mixed with tremendous relief!

dh. When my son and his wife finally ceased and desisted from attending the meetings...a peace just came over me like I had never felt before. I could take all the pain that the rest of my family dished out because I knew they were SAFE!

I'm glad for you and your mom but the road has just begun. It takes a long time to wash that brain back to normal and sometimes you just have to dig your way out of the hole you put yourself in.

Tell her that the best thing that has ever happened to me happened on the night I decided that I wouldn't go to the hall unless I really felt like it and no longer out of guilt. I wanted to go to the mall and so I did on a Tuesday meeting night. That's the night I met my husband at an art store he owned in the mall. I have been married for 10 years and we are so in love. He has been my best friend and at times only friend. I wish her many years of happiness and many blessings on you for helping her. I hope that your dad sees the light as well, 'cause something like this can really change things. Best of luck!
