You still have some kind of fear of jw's.
I had nightmares for about 2-3 years when I started slacking off.The dreams were always basically the same;I was being chased or pursued by men who wanted to catch me and do me harm. Then one day it occured to me,I still had a fear of jw's,like they could in my life or my home and still control me.Once I figured it out,the nightmares stopped and I sleep much better.

Oh this is going to be a fun post for me- I know it's corny, but I like to look up the meaning of dreams in this book I have "Dictionary of dreams". Sometimes it's really cool what ideas it comes up with. And I know alot of corny dreams that were written in the bible so maybe yours means something poetic as well.
I'll start by dissecting your dream bit by bit and then try to make sense of it at the end.
"being tried"- Your high social standing seeks punishment for petty misdeeds."in the woods"
- a relief from doubts"standing around me in a circle"-
Your higher state of consciousness comes at the price of loneliness."guilty verdict... to be executed."-
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR FEELING SUCH INSANE GUILT? (this is the actual meaning, not me asking you this)"gun and shoots"-
a serious illness of the heart threatens and/or will feel invalidated for some time."wound... painfull"-
sadness due to parents waste of an inheritance and/or too much negative energy, high strung, emotional outbursts.Number: 22-
will discover the secret of a scientific mysteryNumber 38-
will have an excessive desire for gain"purposeful shot, not intended to kill"-
could mean several things: an enemy is attempting to injure you through your friends; they want your life but are unwilling to earn it themselves; danger is in who you are not what you do; problems are not solved in one dimension but in three. Here is just my unprofessional opinion, take it for what it's worth:
You have been judged too harshly by people around you and it's made your heart ache over the treatment you have been given. However, something inside you knows that this has not killed you and that you will be able to recover from this one day. You also feel as if you will always carry this feeling around with you (I think for a period of time you will and then you will heal ) and were shocked that these people didn't even seem to care that you were hurt.
My suggestion to you is- have a dream that the "bullet" inside you is gradually, day by day, turning into something that is healing. A Reeses peanut butter cup works for me!!
I know... I'm crazy!ha ha

I like the idea that they got tired of waiting for the expected result of the punishment they gave you. They basically lost interest and moved on. As an elder, you're aware that this is how it will really work. Initially they will try you and they will execute you (DF) and they will expect you to "wake up" and come running back in tears. They'll wait for that for awhile -- a few years tops -- and then they'll move on. "Hey remember that elder that got DF'd for apostasy or something? What was his name?"
Remember when it happens in real life, though, you don't REALLY have to attend the trial!

The Gestalt analyst would tell you that you are everything in the dream.
You are the elders, your internal organs, the bullet, the trajectory of the bullet - everything.
Next you pretend you are each of those things and you find the antagonistic feature of your dream and play both roles of a dialogue between the antagonist.
It's very important to know when in the dream you woke up.
For instance you could perhaps have a dialogue as follows:
Bullet: I am metalic and hard. But I have not been aimed right?
Internal Organs: I am soft and vulnerable. When are you going to exit my body? But even if you don't you haven't done any damage. Maybe you'll just stay in me until I absorb you.
etc. etc. etc.
Sometimes this works at uncovering some unfinished business.

Is this a recurring dream? If so, go prepared next time.

I agree with Dave - the dream probably "symbolizes" your plans of a slow fade and gradually not living up to the expectations of the elders. You think at some point they'll ask for a decisive move on your part, and that's what scares you.
They shoot you but you don't die. That's the best part, actually. At some point I realized (and wrote about it on this board) that the elders were like policemen with plastic guns. Ain't that similar? They think they have the power to condemn for eternity, but when you're mentally free their magic ceases to work on you.
