I saw Cindi a few months back in a small Casino.
She was soooooo awesome, she sang her new stuff and it is good.
I almost got in a fight with three 20 somethings behind me who were yelling..." Girls just wanna have Fun"
They talked the whole time through her performance, saying OMG..she looks so old.. she is dressing like my mom...
She brought the house down when she sang that one last, and danced through the audience, but those 3 bimbos will never forget me...he he
They were rude and were in retro '80's attire, I doubt they were teething when she first sang that hit. I told them a few things ..I had applause from the "Moms and Dads" around me.

Her song "True Colours" was about her best friend in the '80's who died of aids. When she sang that it was very emotional to the audience as well as her.
She looked fabulous for being in her fifth decade of a talented life.

Cindy Lauper was cool, but I always loved Pat Benetar (sp?).
Have to say though that my all time favorite RockerDude is.... my hubby.... yummy....

AHA! That song I couldn't remember was "True Colors"! Thank you NPY. It was making me crazy when I could't remember that. I never knew that was what it was about, though.

FHN, He was adorable too. I liked him when he hosted that show in the late 70's. He never had that what I call "lion-mane" look that Barry had, though. Made MY heart go pitty-pat! (and me being a sweet JW back then, too!)

Cindi Lauper's road manager, I don't remember his name, grew up a JW. Yup, last I heard, he (the Road Manager) and his wife were planning on going back to the meetings - because it was obvious that they (the Witnesses) have the truth.

Yeah, I kinda like Cindi Lauper - True Colours and Time after Time are two songs that give me goosepimples when I hear them. She never really did much for me in the trouser department though.... unlike Toyah - she was / is fine!!! Debbie Harry (blondie) used to give me strange urgeings too!!!
As for all girl bands... my favourite 'four tissue fantasy' group was Femme Fatale!

I thought Cindi Lauper was fantastic. I thought that she would become a lasting force in music and that Madonna was a flash in the pan.
In the 1970's there was a singer named Nicolette Larsen. I thought she was just as good as Linda Ronstadt but Nicolette never reached superstar recognition.
