Big Tex,
I'd rephrase it as post only the personal information you want the whole world to know, or that you don't care if it is widely known.
Exactly.
Such as, my name is Christopher Scott.

Beware the evil Smurfs!!!
Sometimes we want to believe that everyone is sincere, in need of help, etc. I am VERY wary when they start asking for your personal information.
Spend a little time reading posts before posting. Most people here are very sincere and willing to help or contribute to the forum. But like most groups, there are a few stinkers who enjoy egging others on, or being disruptive. It doesn't take long to see the good, bad, and ugly. I'm one of the good guys.
But . . . this is the best forum that focuses on life as a Witness, and the real life after the Tower! It can be very helpful, and continues to be so.
Watch for those stinkers!
not everyone is truthful or necessarily looking out for your best interests
NOW you tell me!!!!!!

I read a lot before I started posting here. And nothing I say cannot be known by the world because it's all true (at least from my perspective .
I'd say, be careful, reading these posts can be addictive! (gotta go ... conference call in 20 mins)
I think you said it well, min. Don't always trust that someone is being truthful. Even if you agree with their position on a subject. This can apply to life in general, by the way! On occasion it appears that people make stuff up to further their own interests. But then again such people are often ratted out in the thread.
I sometimes think that a few of the JW apologists like to post "rebuttals" more to give the appearance that a "smart" JW can defend their position than to actually address the point of discussion. Many newbies and lurkers don't have much of a background on what they're discussing (like the Gentile Times) so as they skim through the thread they may get a false impression.
If you're sneaking around on JWD and get caught by a family member, and are obviously hiding the fact that you're looking at something wrong on the net, say it's porn. It's easier to get away with.
