    I've witnessed these all...unfortunately..

This is for all here who aren't JW's or XJW's. This is what the JW's r really like...

Problem: Get rid of the crusty old geezers doing privledges
Example: The old has-beens who think they are elders and can boss people around.

Problem: The thing where u have to ask the elders for everything.
Example: In the literature room there was a box of old books, of which were books I needed to plug up gaps in my collection. They'd been there for months and no one wanted them so I wanted to take them. Had to get the elders OK first.

Problem: Everyones a slack, back biting prick till the CO rocks up...
Example: A cong I was in had an attendance of around 80-90 normally but once the CO has a visit it gets bumped up to 120-130. Nothing gets everyone out to field service like the CO's visit. And nothing changes people like the CO's visit.

    Problem: The sh*tty man-made rules.
Example: A young female publisher wanted to move in with her auntie and uncle......turned into a no-go cos of the elders.

    Problem: The whole siege mentality
Example: Do or die......I had to say Jerusalem fell in 607BCE to stay outta deep trouble. Even though I knew it was all bullsh*t (The 607 date) I reckon the elder knew I knew it was BS...

    Problem: All the ass kissing.
Example: CO's visit, conventions, circuit and district assemblies.

    Problem: The name calling
Example: Running ahead of the borg is being presumptious.

Problem: Lording it over the flock (Not only elders)
Example: Every cong has a dictator.

    All for now.

    The Apostle AK.

    Oh yeah this too.

    Problem: Salvation by works
Example: 5 hours of meeting attendance + 10+ hours of field service a month + Participating at meetings = Salvation!

    TheApostleAK,

If you hate someone because of their religion then you need help.
    And I mean big help.

Not all of these things are unique to JW's

Hi Freddie: Normally you are correct that 'hating' someone because of their religion is not good. But, keep in mind here that the Society teaches what is called, 'relative' hate, with 3 kinds of hate. In the July (June?) 15, 1992 Watchtower the Society said that JWs could hate 'Apostates'. Now, we know that ex-JWs just simply have a different view, hence a different religion. So, the ApostleAK was merely expressing relative 'hate' and doing noting inappropriate according to the Society policy. Amazing

    Amazing,

Your mind is gutted too. The Bible and WT does not teach us to hate apostates.

and a former member of the Morg. I see part of the problem as being the mentality of these religious dictatorships. I can give you some of the same examples in mormondom. Temple attendence is up when a general authority comes to a area. People trying to win respect by moving up in the ranks, leaders thinking they are the word of God and beating people over their head with authority. We have much in common. One of the root causes of this problem is salvation by works. When people think they earned righteousness they think they're better then others. This is a form of Religious Class warfare. "I'm more holy then you are."

I must disagree with you on this one Fredhall. The WT has consistently called 'apostates' (who it defines as anyone who disagrees with them) all manner of foul names. In the 1951 WT it even expressed regret that the 'untheocratic man-made rulers influenced by satan prevented them killing ex-members' !

Anybody remember reading about the great social event of the century "THE CRUSADES'. Like the wise man said, nothing new under the sun. Yesterday, today and tomorrow...

Life is a roller coaster. Get in, sit down, shut up and hang on!
