WRONG DATE FOR MEMORIAL???

Could someone explain to me why they held the Memorial on the wrong date?

This week the jews celebrate Purim--not Pesach.

We are actually in the month of Adar.

But would like to know why Nisan is in April and why is Passover at the date the Jewish calendar gives? I always thought Passover was on the first full moon after spring equinox.

Also in would mean not only the JW's have wrong date, but also all Christians are celebrating Christs death on the wrong date.

Why the discrepancy?

Retail is probably low and they have the best sales on dresses and shoes right now. Better for the economy to have Easter/Memorial early.

The date is not necessarily wrong, it?s just a difference between the way the society reckons the date and how others reckon it.

The society chooses to reckon it by counting 14 days past the first observable new moon past the spring equinox. They claim this is how the ancient Jews did it. Did they? Who knows. I don?t really know how the ancient Jews reckoned the Passover but this is certainly not the way modern Jews do it today.

This might explain why... they didn't use the old schpeel like they used to about the 'date' that they celebrate the memorial...

Of course... it's been a while since I've been... but I seem to recall a long drawn out explanation of theirs going into the 'Nisan 14' explanation, *blah* *blah* *blah* *eyes glaze over*

(Now I know why none of that stuck... I always tuned out after a bit... and went into 'daydream-mode')

Although today is not the date of Passover according to the Jewish calendar, it is (1) Good Friday, (2) Purim, (3) the Feast of the Anunciation, (4) the date the "One Ring" was cast into the cracks of Mount Doom.

I also do not understand why Passover is being celebrated on March 25th instead of April 24th which is the 15th of Nisan this year. The Jewish calendar this year 5765 is a leap year and therefore the month before Nisan which is Adar has an Adar I and an Adar II. Im surpised that no one knew that. Is there an explanation?
