Again...the report (by CBS) was written by someone who says MJ is a JW but there is no proof he's a re-instated JW. Not even a direct quote from MJ himself stating he's back in fold.

Even if Michael Jackson is considered "disassociated" and this was done behind the scenes, I would think if he had been reinstated that would have been announced publicly at least in the congregation he was officially in (his publisher cards resided in).

This is a form letter sent to the District Convention Committees in the United States to prepare them for a response to the question, "What is the standing of Michael Jackson among the congregations of Jehovah's Witnesses?"
Speculation has it that Michael worked a deal with the Watchtower's Service Dept. to avoid the classification of "disfellowshipped," for whatever reason. Perhaps this is a new category of person: not disfellowshipped, but disassociated, but not to be avoided as "bad association."
Interesting clue: Former bro. Jackson is reportedly still contributing to the "worldwide publishing work" (financially, of course.)

I see no chance that he is a J W these days . whether he was d/fd or d/ad remains a moot point , but involvement with the Islamic group, Jesse Jackson and other such charecters would instantly get him thrown out anyway.
The WT policy is not to comment, so they will not reply to the article. I guess they think that if they get involved they are putting their name in the ring next to his. And legal dept may advise against comment

I've never heard of Michael Jackson being reinstated. In fact, I didn't even know he was formerly disfellowshipped! I thought he DA'd himself years ago.
Someone who was raised a Catholic but who hasn't been to church for 20 years can still say "I'm a Catholic", but that doesn't apply in this religion. Basically, only people who actively go to the meetings and out in service are considered Witnesses. One of my siblings left the Borg over 20 years ago and she certainly doesn't tell anyone that she's a Jehovah's Witness. On a humorous note, one day a couple of years ago, some Witnesses came to her door Saturday morning and her live-in boyfriend answered the door. He told them "my girlfriend's a Jehovah Witness, but she's not here right now." He then told them that they've been living together for 15 years. I can only imagine the look of shock on their faces when he said that. LMAO! My sister nearly bust a gut when she went home and he told her what happened.
Anyhoo, me thinks Michael is a bit confused with regards to whether or not he's still a Witness. Then again, he's confused about alot of things, like the fact that his jammy-jams should only be worn to bed and not to court.

If you are correct then you need to tell this to the Media which according to you does not know what it (or Jesse Jackson) is saying is wrong.
The article saying Michael Jackson is now back to being a JW is all over the world, so please correct them fast. I don't have the means, but maybe some of you do.
Until you do it is being assumed by tens or hundreds of millions of news readers that he is a JW again.

I thought you had to be baptized first in order to be DF'ed/DA'ed? MJ was never baptized so he can't be DF'ed/DA'ed.
But if he's now considering himself to be a dub again, it's perfect schadenfreude. The WT would have to deal with 2 eccentric, high profile entertainers being in it's ranks, not just one!
Can you imagine the hits going to Bill's site if MJ was found going to people's doors?

First, I have never heard about Jackson being df'd, always that he da'd himself. Can you be reinstated from da'ing yourself?
Second, I don't ever remember hearing that he even was baptized.
That being said, he still may hang onto some JW beliefs.
