Ok, I?ll probably make many enemies by saying this, so please take this as my professional deformation.

I like to see irrefutable and concrete evidence about subject at hand and one thing that I do hate is shadowy research. WT org has been guilty of such a poor scholarship in many instances, but right now I see some of you making the same judgment mistake. Just because they?ve used UN plane doesn?t mean a thing, so what if they used a plane??? So did many other organizations but that didn?t make them a part of UN. In such situation UN is know to assist any orgs whose cause is humanitarian aid.

You?ve gotta be careful with your research. By all means share information but I?d advise be careful how you interpret what you see. Any shadowy research presented here may also be used by other side as evidence that we don?t know what we are talking about when we are talking about other things such as WT and NGO membership or alike.

    Peace, bros

I certainly hope politely speaking your opinion as you did does not make enemies! I'd like to think people on this forum have risen above the hatred for independent thinking by now.

You made some valid points about validating allegations and being cautious about making claims to current jws or non-jws. In a discussion forum mostly comprised of ex-jws, I would hope it's understood that it's a discussion and sharing of info rather than a formal/public claim of WTS wrongdoing. Perhaps you were making the same point and I wasn't clear.

I do understand your point about the use of the planes, however I disagree with it. Normal churches or other groups...hey, I'd think nothing of them using the UN planes...it would be a non-issue. WTS though claims they are totally and completely separate from the UN, not having any involvement with the UN whatsoever..."not even touching the unclean thing" or some such nonsense. Therefore, to me, it is very relevant that they used the UN planes. I do believe this news would shake the foundations of the b0rg as well, since many of them may view this as a betrayal and violation of its own principles which they claim to uphold without reserve.

If they needed planes, why not use government ones? Their rules allow them to use government services when needed because they pay taxes. However, the UN is not a government. In WTS eyes, it is a reprehensible humanitarian and political organization...one which they must stay totally away from.

    cyborgVision,

I'm with you on this one. I still can't see evidence of the WTBTS being directly involved. At most it looks like association by proxy, which in itself is substandard by their princibles.

Editited to add: If you check out the media site you can see them donating supplies to witnesses from Belgium, Switzerland etc which sounds like ADEAFRIQUE but does NOT say as such. It's an interesting subject, which I'm trying to find more info on.

    Steve:

I provided you with this information before. See below:

    ******************************************************************************************************

There is a (brochure), that was published by the Watchtower Society about their humanitarian relief efforts that thousands of Jehovah?s Witnesses do (not) even know exists! The (brochure) is called: (Mission To Africa), and here is what the Yearbook/1998/p-45/ states about this brochure, quote:

    The France

branch was assisted (in the preparation of a brochure containing details about this activity). The (brochure was distributed to government officials and members of the news media), acquainting them with examples of what Jehovah?s Witnesses were doing in a positive and practical way to provide assistance to people in need. A number of officials expressed sincere appreciation for this information.

If we take a look at this (brochure), we can find where the Watchtower Society admit themselves that they used the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugees (airplanes) who (flew in relief supplies), for Jehovah?s Witnesses and others in Africa.

Check out the Yearbook listed above for your concrete evidence. They admit that the (French Branch) was assisted in publishing a brochure about the disaster relief efforts. That brochure was called (Mission To Africa).

If the Yearbook is not good enough for you, then suit yourself!

    Thanks!

Yes, Yes, we have all seen and posted these documents before!

So what are you actually saying?

Are you saying the Watchtower is a hypocrite or not?

    Yes or No?

Make yourself (clear) this time! Above you said you did (not) make yourself clear.

    So here's your opportunity!

Yes or No? Is the Watchtower a liar or not?

    Thanks!
