Picketing is definitely an adrenaline rush, especially when you get a reaction from the congregation.

Picketing is definitely an adrenaline rush, especially when you know it's for a good cause and you feel committed to it.

I got the same rush a few years ago when I met with my fellow Silent Lambs in Dallas and we made signs. We had called the media a few days before, and were scheduled to meet up with them at a very well known Kingdom Hall in Dallas. It was to be right before Channel 8 News in Dallas did an expose similar to the Dateline expose. We were not even sure the media would be there, but we went.

Valis, Jesika, myself, and some XJWs from Oklahoma went there and passed out flyers IN traffic, put signs on the Kingdom Hall lawn, and put our lamb and flyer on the door of the Kingdom Hall. It was not long before an SUV pulled up, but BEFORE our lovely news team showed up.

Jesika got to talk to them about her awful experience being raised in, and abused by, the JWs. She did a great news spot. Shortly after she did her shot, an SUV pulled up in front of the Kingdom Hall. Now, mind you, we had LOTS of signs about Silent Lambs put around the corner of the avenues, around the Kingdom Hall, where we wouldn't think they'd raize them up. Ms. SUV Pioneer Sister pulls into the KH parking lot, runs up to the door and yanks out our little Silent Lamb and our flyer, throws it onto the parking lot. We just stayed where we were and stared at her like she was crazy.

Later, another SUV pulls up into the parking lot. A little man, about five foot six gets out, gets on his cell phone and struts around the parking lot talking on his cell phone like was the Little Red Rooster That Could. We were chuckling. We packed up our signs and went home. It was late and we had to party.

I am not adverse to picketing, Junction. You come here to Texas, we can talk about it.... heheh.

    Sec. 23. Right of assembly.

That the citizens have a right, in a peaceable manner, to assemble together for their common good, to instruct their representatives, and to apply to those invested with the powers of government for redress of grievances, or other proper purposes, by address or remonstrance.

Thanks, Xandria. That puts a little clarification on it.. however, doesn't address in Junction Guy's home town where that peacable protestation may occur. It also doesn't address if an active DA wants to give him hell, where his defense $ are going to come from.

Wow, Dave! Good for YOU! (and your friends of the big A persuasion).

and parked in the walmart parking lot

As for me, I would have preferred heading TO Walmart than being anywhere near a Kingdumb Hall.
